Which KC Chiefs Draft Pick in 2018 will have the most significant impact on the Chiefs' on field success over the next two seasons?

Total toss up. Can see 3-4 of them contributing early and often.

I’ll jump off the fence and say O’Daniel and Watts do the most in 2018.

I really think DOD could be a stud in the role he plays here.

Smith at first as a punt returner so not as vital as the others at first. Then when every corner not named fuller is so so I hope he gets his chance. Could be a big play maker.

I think O'Daniel is a good Safety pickup that will surprise alot of people. I voted Watts because I think Berry can put some discipline into him. Nnadi, Hitchens and him should help our run game a good deal.

The QB from TexasTech. First choice.

Dorian O'daniel from this weekend. I think he is better than Sorenson.

watts, the others are depth player projects. watts 'could' out play the safety position on this team. plus wasn't he really good on special teams, or was that a different player? :D

Watts and speaks are day one contributors i am willing to bet.

I think watts will contribute the most this year though. Not only is he a ball hawk and good tackler, He will get Sorenson off the fucking field as well.

He also has a knack for stripping the ball, kind of like Marcus Peters.

I don't think Watts replaces Sorenson. O'daniel looks like the in the Box safety type pick. Watts is Ron Parker's replacement. Watts could start day 1 because of need.

Although I think O'Daniel may wind up to be a better pick, I'm going with Watts because he's a FS and that cupboard is pretty empty right now.

My guess is that Dorian O'Daniel will have the most significant impact- Chiefs love to be in nickel and dime packages and Dorian's body type and skill set make him a natural fit for the hybrid linebacker position. I've seen a few individuals want to compare Dorian O'Daniel to Kam Chancellor but I haven't seen many comparisons to Deion Jones of the Atlanta Falcons, just take a look at Deion Jones draft video and also combine numbers:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cv2H-h52L60

"Hybrid linebacker-safety"
"Undersized Will"
"Sub package dime"
"Special team standout"

Sound familiar?

Now combine/pro-day numbers:

Jones:
6'1 222 LBS
40-yard dash: 4.38 seconds (ran a 4.59 at the combine though)
20-yard short shuttle: 4.26 seconds
3-cone: 7.13 seconds
Vertical: 35 1/2 inches
Bench press: 18 reps of 225 pounds

O'Daniel:
6'1 223 LBS
40-yard dash: 4.61 seconds
20-yard short shuttle: 4.07 seconds
3-cone: 6.64 seconds
Vertical: 32.0 inches
Bench press: 21 reps of 225 pounds

Obviously Deion Jones seems to have an extra gear for the 40 yard dash but all the acceleration metrics O'Daniel had better numbers, very similar size. You watch their tape and I think O'Daniel was definitely used more in coverage (O'Daniel lined up a ton at the slot position) than Jones was but I think the comparison is an interesting one.

O'Daniel is the draft pick I am the most excited about.

Me too like his return skills and he doesn't look undersized seems almost bulky for a cb kind of unique. He may not be the top player drafted but may have a good shot to win playing time as far as competition is concerned.

I didn’t vote for him, but considering the amount of votes Nnadi has and post-draft discussion, I think he’s being slept on a little bit.

There’s a decent chance he’s a day 1 “starter” at NT and have an instant impact.

Watts and DOD have the easiest path to the most snaps. Their competition is literally Sorensen at either spots and Eric Murray who is horrible.

They did not bring in one not vet at either role this year.

I expect Sorenson to get cut post June 1 or during the preseason.

I just see too many similarities between Speaks and Hali. Can play anywhere on the line but doesn't really fit any of them perfectly. Everybody was down on the Hali pick - I remember that. He wasn't a flashy player. And all he ever did was get after it, every down, without fail. I just keep seeing that when I watch Speaks, who I admittedly knew very little about before this past weekend.

Like most, I see him as being the most likely to contribute right away simply because of the position he plays.

When you have a league full of guys that are similar to Travis Kelce (he's the new prototype) you have to have somebody that's fast enough AND big enough to cover. To me, O'Daniel is the perfect fit for the sub packages that we seem to run the most. The other thing that not he brings but a guy like Hitchens, is that we can actually get coverage out of the LB's without pulling a safety down or putting a pass rusher in coverage. It's going to help the defense a lot with being able to keep guys where they are supposed to be instead of trying to patch skill holes with scheme.

again - I'm going to bed finally - but DoD will be significantly better in the NFL than Armani Watts will - position for position. I have a strong gut feeling about this and am sticking by this - just wanted to log it. So I can start my - "I was right about DoD" thread in December. :)

Solid but not spectacular. He'll grow into a very necessary part of our defense...

I'll say Watts. Hopefully Reidtard doesn't keep Sorensucks in the starting lineup. Watts is a much better ballhawk.

I never did like the Speeks pick. People compare him to Tamba Hali. I think he's fatter and slower than Tamba Hali ever was. Reached big time IMO. Dunno why we traded up for him. Is he going to play DL on 3rd downs? Seems like he needs to lose about 25lbs.

I'm starting to wonder if any of them will matter much.

Yeah, camp reports suggest Nandi though I wonder if Smith won't end up making a huge impact in special teams.

Sorensen's injury probably opens up an opportunity for O'Daniel to finally show up but man - I can't remember a guy that was a relatively high pick simply not making ANY noise like O'Daniel has in a long time.

I mean even Russell seemed to get more positive attention than O'Daniel and he got cut out of camp. DOD is simply a forgotten man out there.
