I know there have been other threads on here for the same thing, but search is failing me. My wife and I are going to be there Sunday-Wednesday in mid July. We are staying at the Golden Nugget on Sunday (For kitschy Fremont Street fun and because it's cheap as hell) and we're staying at The Linq on Monday and Tuesday nights. Only activity set in stone is we are seeing "O" on Tuesday night.

We're interested in a good pool at some point, possibly a spa day, a really good live music venue. We're pretty much down for whatever. Budget wise, probably in the neighborhood of 300-400 for entertainment (in addition to "O"). Pretty flexible on food budget, but probably will keep it simple other than one or two nicer meals. I know some of you guys go to Vegas quite a bit. Any ideas? One thing to note, that Tuesday is my wife's birthday and Wednesday is our anniversary (although we'll be driving back to LA for part of it)

TIA. Rep for serious or particularly funny responses.

They have a very nice Olive Garden on Nellis Blvd on the East side of town. It's only about 35 minutes from the strip in traffic.

If you're staying at the Linq they have this little Irish themed bar&casino that had $5 craps all night. We got wasted in there and had a pretty good time. Nothing fancy

And he does mean blowjobs.

Mandalay Bay has the most off the hook daytime pool parties.

The Mirage pool party has a European sunbathing theme so lots of topless girls. Check that out.

Nice. Knew about the Nugget but glad to hear the Linq has $5 tables. I thought there weren't any on the strip any more.

Also, on the walkway between The Cosmopolitan and Bubba Shrimp there is a group of younger folks hanging out. They should have a guitar with them. They are on the Cosmopolitan side and they are selling drugs.

The linq is pretty good location. Not sure about pool options there, might have to hit one of the others for that. It sits close to in n out burger, the high roller, the bowling alley etc. there is also a live music venue that can be enjoyed from the upper deck.

MGM is pretty good as well, a bit pricier especially if a major event is going on. Cirq show there is good. It’s also pretty close to top golf if that sounds like a good time.

Could always go downtown and zip line.

Mandalay Bay has a pretty cool pool area, shark tank, various other things, and house of blues as I recall.

I know you are already booked, but some of the best bang for your buck is Signature or Jockey Club.

For casual food, Bruxie near NYNY for Chicken & Waffles is pretty good. Bazaar Meat for best bang for your buck meats, and still classy. So many places to eat, hard to go wrong.

Literally just got home from Vegas last night. We stayed at the Nugget for 3 nights. I am 53 years old so take my opinions with that in mind:

The Nugget is off the "Strip" by 5 to 10 minutes. Uber or taxis will cost you about $20 to $25 to take you and your family to the "strip" and you may wait about 30 minutes for a car. The Nugget is filled with millenials and a bit older haha.......to me it seemed like spring break. The Nugget is on "Fremont Street" which is an epic horror show of inhumanity.....but you have to walk the 2-4 blocks and just people watch...too funny. I had a great half day at the "Mob Museum" which is walking distance from the Nugget. That was fun but Ive been told that the best "mob" tour is with Frank Cullatta who is an old mobster that is the real deal and gives private tours. That was my favorite tour by far. The Venitian kicks ass....Mandalay Bay is cool but kinda weird when understanding where the shooter was and where he shot....kinda raised the hairs on my neck a bit when I drove by. Took my son to "Red Rock" canyon which was cool for a short time but became boring quickly.

My take? I would do the Frank Cullatta private tour #1 but if that fails, do the Mob Museum tour.

Do the Strip but the Venitian is probably best and check out the short water show at the Bellagio as I heard they are stopping it soon and will replace it with shops.

At the Nugget go for a walk down Fremont Street. Not for kids.....because this is a freak show especially at night but entertaining as all heck. The Nugget does have a great pool and slide but it is crowded as hell.

Last but not least, buy a cheap cooler to bring to your room for all your booze and fill with ice from the machines. Beer and booze anywhere in or near hotel is outrageous. Go a few blocks away to a safeway or target store and load up on beer, wine or whatever you drink.....and bring it into your room. TRUST ME.....you will save tons of money doing this. Half the luggage coming in and out of the lobby are coolers on wheels with cases of beer in tow. If not, have fun paying $7.00 for a coors lite or $15.00 for a mojito lol.....

Dude it's free when you gambol or play poker. Even if you don't want to gambol. Just sit down at a 1/2 No Limit table with $50. Play no hands. You can get at least 4 drinks for probably six dollars in blinds. Anything you want, tell them to make doubles. WGAF. And you might even make money (just shove premium hands preflop if you are scared and don't know how to play to eliminate variance)

You are correct BUT those drinks are so watered down its horrible. Trust me, I have talked with many casino workers haha. Also, I don`t play in the casino.....too frickin stinky for me.

Drink wise I strongly recommend trying an Irish Margarita at O'Shea's which you'll find attached to The Linq and a Five O'Clock Somewhere at Margaritaville Casino which is attached to The Flamingo and next door to The Linq. The latter also has a happy hour from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. with great prices and an outdoor deck facing the Strip if you're into people watching, and trust me at that time of the morning there are some sights to behold.

Don't know how much you gamble but get player's cards and use them whenever you do as they can result in future comps.

Another tip on Ellis Island(just a short walk from Bally's) if you like craft beers they have their own there(comped if gambling) and only $3 for 20 oz. if not.

I've been numerous times as well and don't do much sightseeing but one thing I did do that was awesome was take the trip to the top of The Stratosphere preferably at night(900 feet above the city). They also have thrill rides up there but that wasn't for me.

Lastly for shows I'd say The Beatles LOVE at Mirage is my #1 choice after that for a decent price and assuming the SO doesn't mind you googling at bare breasts The X-Burlesque at Flamingo or X-Rocks at Bally's are small intimate revues that have some awesome music and very tasteful routines.

Last March-April when I was in Vegas for two weeks, me and my buddy were there like 7-8 times. It was walking distance to the reconstruction project he was working on. Fun little place. The pizza was really good with their beer.
