This might be the most talked about story in sports tomorrow. It's too long to post the whole thing but it's a great read. It theorizes that Philadelphia 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo was secretly running Twitter accounts that ripped his predecessor, current players, and even his coaching staff. This wasn't some low level employee... it was the GM. Do other GMs do this? Is one of you actually Brett Veach?

The Curious Case of Bryan Colangelo and the Secret Twitter Account

By Ben Detrick May 29, 2018, 9:08pm EDT

In February, The Ringer received an anonymous tip that Bryan Colangelo, the Philadelphia 76ers’ president of basketball operations, had been secretly operating five Twitter accounts. Since then, we have scrutinized and archived those accounts in an attempt to verify the source’s claims that the longtime NBA executive has been using them as a platform to:

- Criticize NBA players, including Joel Embiid, Jahlil Okafor, and Nerlens Noel
- Publicly debate the decisions of his own coaching staff, as well as critique former Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie and Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri
- Telegraph the 2017 trade in which the Sixers acquired the no. 1 overall pick that would become Markelle Fultz
- Disclose nonpublic medical information about Okafor and gossip about Embiid and Fultz to members of the national and Philadelphia media

Crazy stuff.

I know Veach has a twitter account with his actual name, but it’s private and only has 1 follower.

If he disclosed non-public medical information, that is going to cost him his job.

Yep, that's my sixers alright :D . To be honest, this could actually be a blessing in disguise cause imo BC was an average GM living on past glories and the resume of his father, and we were always gonna be at a disadvantage compared to our enemies that our the Boston Celtics as they have a great GM in Danny Ainge. Now we can get someone better and hopefully close the gap between our GM and the Celtics guy. EX Cavs GM David Griffin is the name folks are talking about. Especially as he apparently has a good relationship with Lebron who is heavily linked with joining the Sixers.

This guys fucked. After reading the report Im convinced it was him. Good catch by the initial group that spotted all those consistencies in those accounts.

He only used the other four accounts when under the influence of Ambien, though.

I have a feeling this is more common than we think. Across all businesses.

I would not be surprised at all. Business, sports, politics. The Internet allows people to pretend to be someone else and manipulate the conversation.

Actually of the five Twitter account two have have the same last two digits of his cell and three others his wife’s. Which means it’s all him. Unreal.

I think that a lot of people believed that was Bob Moore. We'll never really know.

No doubt but 99% of people are smart enough not to follow their sons basketball coach, their real estate agent, etc, with their burner accounts.

Thats what I couldnt believe, that he actually followed his close friends and business associates with his burner accounts. Even retweeting pictures of himself from one of them. Once The Ringer got the tip it wasnt that hard to connect the dots when every follower from every account traced back to him in some way.

Rufus Dawes fought in the Iron Brigade during the Civil War. Man got around.

I don’t think Carl directly wrote, but it was his propaganda machine. Man that was bizarre.
