The person who posted on Reddit the news of Julian Edelman‘s looming four-game PED suspension a day before ESPN broke the story (which means that ESPN didn’t break the story) has promised another one.

“I’ve actually been sitting on some bigger patriots news for the past few days, still trying to verify that it’s 100% true before putting it out there,” said Redditlover1981. “Regardless I plan to post it here tomorrow evening.”

(It’s admirable that an anonymous person would be careful enough to protect his/her good unknown name by ensuring accuracy.)

Redditlover1981 has decided to accept guesses (and that went exactly how you think it would go), hinting that “the news is negative and it’s about a current multi year patriot.”

Taking that description literally, it include anyone who has been with the team for more than one year. So we’ll wait to see what the anonymous person/possible burner account has to say, and whether it comes to fruition.

But Henry is just lost for one year and is young, so I am not sure paying a high premium for Gronk would make sense.

Of that Guerrero got super defensive immediately, and the pats immediately distanced themselves from him. There's definitely smoke that something messed up is happening. Especially since the whole Guerrero deal last year had so much mystery to it.

It's interesting. But the links the reddit user posted in the OP... none of them claimed to have a story, except that a reddit user who got a story right before was tipping about vague huge breaking news.

Then the story got really specific. And nobody has claimed those rumors are untrue. The reddit user said nothing about Gronk. If Gronk was a made-up story apparently confirmed by multiple sources, how did the sports media then get to a rumor that specific? In fact, the reddit user even in the comments said he was surprised by the Gronk news too. So someone, possibly multiple people, outside of the reddit user were leaking the Gronk story.

The reddit user may have hoaxed the media. But the Gronk story may still have a lot of legs.

What did the media do terribly wrong? They reported a story and specifically stated their source was a reddit user who may or may not be reliable. I don't think any major source was claiming any fake news or fake sources.

No, he didn’t come up with the Gronk story. As you can see only one of the initial tweets was even about that and that guy was grasping at straws. This guy just got lucky with Edelman and suddenly turned into Deep Throat.

Yup. Nothing so far to invalidate the Gronk rumors.

There's also a chance the reddituser was telling the truth but was worried about being discovered.

Bellichick is pissed about Guerrero.
Brady is pissed that Bellichick is pissed about Guerrero.
Gronk continues to work with Guerrero.

All trails lead to Guerrero. That's why the rumor has legs. And if Gronk goes, very interesting to see how Brady reacts.

If this is true, Kraft is making a mistake angering Bill. The Hoodie is the true engine.

This question has always been debated and it's hard to tell right now since it's chicken-and-egg. Belichick and Brady came in together and, up until Mo Lewis changed the course of Patriots history by almost killing Bledsoe, there were rumors that Belichick was on thin ice. At this point it's impossible to say who is really responsible for the success but signs point more to Bill than to Tom. After all, Belichick went 11-5 with that QB you don't want mentioned here, not to mention Belichick has turned the roster over almost every two years and still gone to 8 Super Bowls.

At this point, I'm tired of the drama bullshit and honestly don't care if Brady goes. He's at the end of his career anyway. I'd rather Brady goes and Bill stays, to see if Belichick can keep things rolling. I'd hate to see Kraft piss Belichick off because in true NFL soap-opera fashion he'd probably go back to the Jets and win six Super Bowls...

Excellent breakdown.

I am personally of the opinion that scheme and coaching play a large role in how well players perform. I saw that firsthand last year with the Raiders. Horrible scheme and play calling turned great players into nothing. Skill is important to have but the entire NFL has skill. Guys like Brady and Rodgers have had the same head coaches for their entire career. That is overlooked. Stability is key.

I wouldn't be shocked if post Brady, the Hoodie wins, at least, one Super Bowl. After, he has gone 14-6 in the Brady era with backup quarterbacks. Imagine if he had a full off-season to fully prepare with a new QB.

As a personal note for flavor, my mother always liked Drew Bledsoe so she can't stand the Hoodie or Brady at all. At least, Drew was on the cover of Backyard Football 2002!
