NIKE to withhold Iranian soccer teams shoes for World Cup

antiwar.com - because of US sanctions just days before IRAN plays Morocco this Friday. The same sanctions were in place in 2014 but NIKE let them wear their shoes. Not this time. Adidas is a possible replacement.

The issue is that they expected Nike shoes (ahead of time) so they could be broken in by World Cup time. But yes, they can just wear their old shoes. The whining is an attempt to shame the U.S. regarding sanctions.

If the World Cup was being held in North America this year would the Iranian team be allowed to compete even though they qualified with TRUMP as president? Maybe only if their games were in CANADA or MEXICO?
