This guy looks like the athletic older brother of the review guy who wears a suit and critiques shitty fast food.

Love SteveMREs channel. He didn't have to break out the hazmat gear for this one though.

Man.. I love this guy. There is an MRE group on Facebook and he said his mom isn't doing very well right now. Kind of crazy how a guy who eats MREs on YouTube has such a big following

I read Vomelet as Vonnie and thought this was going to be a Vonnie Holliday thread at first.

Steve's channel is such a guilty pleasure. That dude has to have a cast iron stomach. The four fingers of death hot dogs video is a classic as well.

It's awesome that it popped up here!

"Nice hiss."

Geezzz…..we were still eating WWII C-Rations when I was in Viet Nam in 1969…..The "Eggs and Ham" were delightful. The Roast Beef and Potatoes looked EXACTLY like Alpo Dog Food…

Volemet, Corned Beef Snatch, Au Rotten w/ham are all nasty. Best entree of that menu set was BBQ Pork w/ Rice. Add in some Tabasco and crushed crackers and you had a 3star meal in the field. 2nd was Spaghetti w/meat sauce.

Warm it up and put the cheese packet in there. Yum.

When I was in we had a mixture of "old" MRE and the new ones with heaters etc...

Assholes gave us Chicken Cacciatore T-Rats for dinner for about 10 days straight once. THAT was the worst.

One good thing about eating MRE every day 2 or 3 times a day for a month or so, you could set your watch to when you had to shit.

Cheese was great in spahetti as well.

My first MRE was the old white spoon variety. That was in basic. When I went to my line unit it was all newer MRE's with the brown spoon but without the heater. When the heater came out we were so damn happy it wasn't even funny. Hot chow that didn't come from a mermite can or t-rat was beautiful. Till we found out we could take the material out of the heater and make pop bottle bombs. It was struggle after a couple days in the field to find a case of MRE's that the heaters weren't scavenged out of them. We went from candy(mars/m&m/hershey) scavengers to full blown heater thieves for pop bottle bombs.

I suspect those pop bottle bombs were the reason they changed the heater in MRE's to what they have now.

We were always doing stupid shit like that though. Stealing heaters from MRE's, to making colored smoke grenades into pepper smoke grenades, to taking 40 or so 1 1/4lb sticks of C4 in a 5gal 15/40 oil can, to burying 4 or 5 claymores stacked on top of each other in the dirt. Man those were the days.

not to sound all sentimental or corny - but thank you guys that spent time in the military - I'm thankful for folks like you and your bravery.

I bought a case of those when I lived in Florida just to throw in a cupboard for hurricane season. Never had a hurricane. When I was moving away I tried to eat through them and let's just say my body held its peace for a long time.

I actually showed that video to some co-workers today. God, I can't imagine the smell when he's boiling it.
