Andy Reid is standing at the podium after the game against the Bears - and unfortunately, he has some devastating news. You are sitting in the front row, close enough to smell the stench coming off his sweat drenched shirt.

"As you saw, Travis was taken off by the cart in the first quarter," Reid says. "We don't know for sure, but it doesn't look good."

Suddenly, Rick Astley's, " Never Gonna Give You Up" begins playing in the background. Smoke fills the room, and a strange whirling vortex appears. Amazingly, Tony Gonzalez appears. Gonzalez explains that this 28 year old clone of himself was sent by the football god's in the Chiefs time of need.

He goes on to explain that he has been granted the power to heal Travis Kelce from his injury, and that Kelce will be ready to play week 1 against the Chargers. However, in doing so, he will be returned into the vortex and back to football heaven.

He then offers an alternative. He will be unable to heal Travis Kelce, but he will be able to play for the Chiefs for the 2018 season. He knows the playbook by heart, and is in the same condition that the 28 year old original Tony Gonzalez was in.

Coach Reid, baffled, turns to you - and asks you to make the call.

Who do you choose?

I'm living in the now. Tony Gonzo never won a Super Bowl we have that opportunity with Travis Kelce.

Why Not?

Tony G without hesitation. Anytime you can get an all time great in his prime, you do it.

Kelce is great, but give me Tony in his prime any day.

Additionally - you may assume that Bob Sutton is swallowed up by the vortex, and returned, unharmed, as Ron Sutton. Ron is the exact same person as Bob, though he has lost all football knowledge, (however minimal you may believe that is). Coach Reid, noticing this, removes him from the position of defensive coordinator.

Ron returns to his wife and kids, and lives out his days in a rocking chair - often reminiscing on "the good ol' days".

OK, I went with Tony only because he was a more complete TE/ WO. Tony was a more accomplished blocker and was always a mature kid.

However for me it wasn't so easy to just say TG, I will say this, it just appears that Kelce gets open easier and is faster. I have not looked at their times. Just saying it appears.

Tony all day everyday.

He’d be amazing in today’s game when touching is off limits. He had the best hands.

Mahomes to Gonzalez would have broken every record in the book.

/thread.

Kelce is faster and maybe more suited to today’s game but I’m taking gonzo. I think his career drops were less than Kelce a single season mark (made that up but you get the point)

A bit more lopsided than I would have expected

Are you young? Gonzo was other worldly.

This is like asking if you would rather get a BJ from Pamela Anderson or Cindy Crawford

Agree that TG is a more complete TE but in today's game I'm taking Kelce.

This is not even a contest. And I like Kelce but Tony was the ultimate TE. Almost never missed a game. Had unbelievable hands. Kelce already has as many career fumbles as Tony... TG had 1 fumble in his last 14 seasons of football.

Kelce would have to AVERAGE 102 catches and 1,123 yards a year for the next 10 years to pass Tony Gonzalez.
