I'm happy and all but Rivers had a better game. He could have thrown for 600 yards and 6 TDs if not for drops. And really Tyreek should have got that over PMII.

Glad for it though, hopefully he gets 18 more this year.

Rivers had a better stat line, but I wouldn’t say a better game.

They only produced 12 points through 3 quarters against our defense. That should never win you player of the week.

A drop is still an incompletion. Sucks for the QB, but they also get credit for a completion from a great catch on a poor throw so it evens out.

Actually, Tyreek already has 3 touchdowns. 10 total desired touchdowns minus 3 already in the bag touchdowns equals 7 desired touchdowns to go.

Having sorted that all out, I think the more reasonable expectation for Tyreek in this offense is 18 to 20 TDs including special teams scores.

I have a buddy who's slowly becoming a KC fan. He's watched games with me for the past 3 years on and off. He couldn't get into it though. KC had such a tendency to be boring AF, and he blamed Alex.

For the first time in the 20+ years I've known him, HE brought up football in a discussion. Dude watched the opener, loves Mahomes, and wants a Jersey. He said "I think I'm a full blown chiefs fan now."

Tyreek deserves it, but hell, any positive vibes to our new QB is fine with me.

And a popular opinion among certain analysts seems to be that Tyreek complemented Mahomes well and made him look better and what not. Which yeah, that’s true... but I think they have a mutually complementary thing going on with each other. Tyreek likely wouldn’t have had he showings he’s had in the preseason and Game 1 if he had a different QB he was working with.

This is really fun...what so many of us have been waiting for, it seems.

Tune up...he was playing with back-ups in a meaningless game. It WAS a game, technically,...but I doubt they game planned much. Not too much pressure playing in a game that, if you lose, has no effect in the standings.

I'm gonna go conspiracy theorist and say the NFL would like to avoid giving Tyreek too much of a spotlight if they can help it because of his domestic violence incident. I know he's already earned a few POW awards, but if you can reasonably give the award to either him or the squeaky clean rising QB... I dunno, I feel like it's at least a tiebreaker.

Reid sure did want to win it, so back goes in Mahomes.

Plus not game planned, I would bet you a million bucks it was game planned to get him ready. Reid spoke of the coaches splitting up time and getting the QB's ready for their next game, Alex vs Tn and Pat vs Donks.

It's probably fair to think this for most young QBs. And in prior years Reid's genius offensive schemes lose efficacy as the year drags on. I think the book on Mahomes will be that you need to knock him the **** down or he'll carve you up downfield. We have enough complementary weapons that none of this can be easily defended or figured out though. The league may figure him out but then he'll figure the league out. I think we got this one.

I don't think anyone is stopping this offense.

In Week 1 the Chargers focused on Kelce and Tyreek owned them.

In Week 2 Tyreek had 0 catches at halftime. We had 21 points because Kelce was raping.

Then Mahomes got bored and started going to Tyreek.

We are undefensible.

I won't go as far as saying that the O is unstoppable. I don't think the line is good enough to say that. Mahomes isn't getting all afternoon back there like Ben to wait for a WR to get open.

That said, he's good enough to overcome a mediocre line and still have arguably the most explosive offense out there.

I kind of want to invest in a great offensive line now just to see if we can break 50 points a game on average.

He could be the first $200 million dollar player. Probably not, but maybe if he gets 6 years/35 million per or something like that.

In March, 2020, the Chiefs will sign Patrick Mahomes II to a seven-year, $259.5 million contract extension.

At his Hall of Fame induction speech in August, 2038, Clark Hunt will refer to this contract as "the best bargain I've ever found in my life."

Eh, I never saw Fouts as a Chiefs hater.

I find him generally annoying, and he's intolerable when calling Charger games because like a LOT of former players he tends to enormously overfocus on his old team.

Fans are so sensitive. Fouts just kinda sucks.

The funniest part of the whole game was Ian Eagle or whoever the play by play guy was asking the officiating expert about the catch by Robinson. The question he asked was so nonsensical the guy tried to just be like "Oh, you're breaking up!". There was no answer that wouldn't involve pointing out the absolute incoherence of what he asked.

That shit was FUNNY. I have a weird sense of humor.

Tony “Gollum” Dungy is a moron on that show sometimes. It’s amazing what they ignore.

The best thing about watching these shows, is now KCs offensive perception is completely like the Packers. Shannon Sharpe was making fun of Alex Smith on Gameday Prime and how now KC ain’t checking it down.

I could see Ryan Fitzpatrick getting it, I'm not saying he should, but he put up over 400 yards and 4 tds against the Eagles. He currently is the only QB with a higher QBR than Mahomes.

Those are obvious outliers for him, but if you just go by the stats and quality of opponent there is a case for him.

What about his career 80ish passer rating makes him come to that conclusion? That was just stupid. Mahomes is the wild card, he still has to prove it over time, but Fitzpatrick has years of "Meh" to explain why this likely won't be sustained by him for long.

The thing about Fitz is that his career 80-ish passer rating is deceptive.

He's not an "average about 80" guy.

He's a "130 this week, 30 the next" guy.

He's about due for a 4 INT game, the kind of game I just don't ever see Mahomes having.

Brady has thrown 3 or more picks a few times in his career but in all of those instances he was throwing the ball more than 45 times a game. One of them he threw like 60.

If I were a betting man, I wouldn't count on Mahomes throwing more than even 30 times per game very many times. My guess is he averages somewhere around 27-28.

That's impressive in itself and hasn't utilized the run game much but his passes are effective with authority and precision where as he lets the play makers make plays. I don't think it's out of the realm for him to throw 60 td this season with as few as 10 int or less even.

Am I missing something, or is Mahomes the frontrunner heading into MNF? Most of the huge offensive games came from the NFC. The only threats I can think of are Mayfield, Josh Allen, and Albert Wilson, but none of them really have the stats to match Mahomes. If a Steeler doesn't have a huge game, I think he might have a threepeat.

The MNF game pends, but other than Ryan Tannehill, I dunno who else had a comparable Sunday. Albert Wilson meh...

Ridiculous. Mahomes is far exceeding anyone's expectations. I actually thought he'd have similar to Smith's #'s his first year, but with more INT's. Thought he may avg 1/game.

Dude is going full blown 1984 Marino right in front of our very own eyes. He's playing w/ confidence that's shooting to the moon and has weapons all around him and he wants to use all of them. Teams aren't going to be able to stop everyone, and it's safe to say that Mahomes is only going to get better the more games he plays.

Nobody every would have thought this would have played out the way it has. Yes many believed that Mahomes would be the real deal, but I'm not sure many could have predicted this kind of production and in the ways he's done it. He passes the eye test, looks like a poised vet, has a cannon of an arm and dares teams to beat it.

It's magical. It's like a breath of fresh air to have a QB that wants to play past the chains rather than in between them. Teams don't like to play defense and cover the entire field. Teams are going to have to do that vs Mahomes.
