It will be fun watching us score 60 points.

Frustrating watching our defense defend it!

The unspoken thing is that this is happening everywhere in the NFL. The owners want this to be the Arena League and they've succeeded. It's good timing for us. But I still hate it.

Rams stall when they get to the red zone. Sutton probably has the best scheme to stop them. Hopefully either Thomas or Berry have replaced Murray by then.

Goff is not repeating what he did today, especially not in Mexico City. Mahomes will force the Rams into a shootout where they'll trail us on the scoreboard. Once that happens Gurley becomes ineffective and so does that cute little PA Goff was abusing.

Gotta remember too that this was a Thursday night game at home for the Rams. Road teams usually lose and look bad against good teams on Thursdays.

But still, Goff was amazing. Chiefs and Rams definitely the two best offenses in the league right now. Rams D doesn't look all that great. Jaguars should be our toughest test offensively.

I swear some of these guys only watch Chiefs games and or do not understand anything to do with defensive concepts.

Every single game there are multiple snaps with a LB on a WR.

JC I saw a post from Superturtle saying its not necessary for a LB to cover a RB out of the backfield. Who the **** is covering RB's then? D-linemen?

Just dumb.

Maybe if we provide examples people will start to figure it out.

You are probably right

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/09/28/jared-goff-franchise-quarterback/

When the Eagles and the Rams got together last December, the consensus was that the second pick in the 2016 draft (Carson Wentz (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/11257/carson-wentz)) had become a franchise quarterback, and that the first pick in the 2016 (Jared Goff (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/11205/jared-goff)) hadn’t.

This morning, and in light of the injury suffered by Wentz in that game from last December, would anyone take Wentz over Goff?

And don’t give me the “Goff has Sean McVay” nonsense. Wentz has Doug Pederson. Most franchise quarterbacks enjoy above average to great coaching. And that helps franchise quarterbacks become even greater.
What football witnessed last night from Goff was greatness.

They're going to win 13+ games and they're a great team. But come on, a handful of NFC teams could go in there in the playoffs and straight-up outscore them on any given day. They're not some unbeatable juggernaut. I'm not saying I'd pick against them, but I wouldn't be surprised if Brees went in there and hung 40+ on them. Rodgers. Etc. What we are seeing is the air raid taking over the NFL. It’s killed the majority of defense in CFB and is now affecting the NFL.

NFL teams can’t possibly defend it and last night was proof. The Vikings have as much talent and athleticism on their defense as anybody and they got torched.

The only defense that might be able to hold on for long enough is the Jags.

So you literally think they're going 19-0? Remember, no team is ever as good as it looks at its best. The Rams literally cannot play better than that, and meanwhile Brees and Rodgers and co. have put up that kind of night many times in their careers.

They ARE the favorites, but I'll take the field over them without even thinking twice. This isn't the 07 Pats, although the NFL is doing everything in its power to make every offense unstoppable. Let's remember what I stole from Reddit, Manning's MVP season in 2008 compared to the AVERAGE QB in 2018:

Player Completions Attempts Completion % Passing Yards TD INT Rating
08 Peyton Manning 23.2 34.7 66.8% 250.1 1.7 0.8 94.6
2018 NFL Average 23.4 35.7 65.5% 246.6 1.8 0.9 91.8

That is a fucking joke.

Well first I was talking about in the playoffs. They will lose a few games but I am guessing they will be 13-3, 14-2 or somewhere around there. They were 11-5 last year and have upgraded their roster immensely.

Yup.

Corners and safeties are going to become so valuable. Even more than pass rushers.

You used to be fine with one good corner and an okay #2 in the 90’s. Then 10 years ago you needed to have a quality #2 corner. The last few years you have shown that you need at least 3 above average corners to be a good defense.

The Patriots opened this up in the Super Bowl vs Seattle. Brady carved up one of the best defenses ever bc he simply had a bunch of empty sets and 4 receiver plays to spread them out and he took advantage of Seattle’s 3rd, 4th corners.

That’s exactly why Veach has been going heavy on receivers. The more athletic ones you have, the better.

The Rams were without both Talib and Peters though, correct?

The Vikes were jobbed on at least 1 TD. They had a victory within their grasp and couldn't close the deal.

I'm not sure what to think about the Vikings, honestly. Short week? Maybe?

Gurley is a stud. But the Rambs offense might be beatable. Perhaps their achilles heel is a certain lack of improvisational ability. Everything has to be exactly right in order to execute. Goff is a timing passer. That might be the key to beating them.

Come to think of it, their defense kinda plays the same way ... as though they're playing themselves.

When our teams meet in Meyhico City we could topple 100 combined points.

Did i see him making a tackle while the guy crossed the endzone for a TD?

His run defense was up and down, as usual. It was his pass defense that was really suspect. Of course, he was supposed to be out 2-4 weeks so I'm sure he's sore.

Aaron Donald is scary quick and fast. That may be the only way defenses can function going forward: have an interior lineman who can beat his block in 0.2 seconds.

From a ratings standpoint, the NFL has to be hoping for a Rams-Chiefs SB. The way things are developing, that has potential to be one of the highest rated Super Bowls in history.

I won't be surprised if the Chiefs receive favorable officiating the rest of the way.

I can vision Peters in a corner blitz on Mahomes and taking a cheap shot and Mitch morse breaking that little bastard in half.

The Rams look like a machine I really don't know who is going to beat them. It is interesting to me though that Goff isn't getting the same amount of attention\love that Mahomes does.

They’ve pretty much admitted that McVay’s got his hand up Goff’s ass like a puppet, whispering defensive reads into his ear prior to the snap.

Obviously he has to make the plays himself, but often times he doesn’t and he seems to lack the improvisational ability that the greats have in droves.

He looks pretty good, though. Like Tannehill he’s pretty much been improving consistently every year.

I want to see Goff against a good pass rush. He has 5-6 seconds to throw on pretty much every play. Rams OL looks very strong so far, but they have had a pretty weak schedule including the Vikings defense that has a lot of attrition right now. Vikes best pass rusher might be going to the looney bin.

I don't know if they could outscore them, well maybe NO. Any team's best hope as Mecca pointed out is Goff shitting his pants.

I think they are clear cut favorite to win it all and I don't think it is even that close barring some major injury.

The Rams haven’t left the state and have played three home games. Defenses are never great Thursday and they got to play their toughest defensive opponent so far at home on Thursday. The Chargers actually could have won that game had they not had a terrible sequence of giving away a TD. They are definitely good but I don’t think they are so dominant as to basically just be waiting for the Super Bowl victory like Golden State.

They're beatable.

It's true that their offense functions like a machine. And when you want to break a machine, you throw a sabot in the damn thing.

The Rambs' weakness is also their strength. Break the machine by destroying their timing. Our sabot is the pass rush. If we force Goff off his spot and make him improvise, the machine will sputter and die. He's instructed to throw the ball away if he doesn't see his read. So let him. Then, you assign that linebacker dude from Dallas to shadow Gurley and ... voila! ... victory.
