Hated them. My siblings hated them. My mom would practically cry when we'd throw a fit over eating them. They disgusted me. I hated how stringy scrambled eggs were, hated yoke, and frankly my mom's eggs sucked.

Eat em all the time since about age 12. Wonderful creations. What is something you now love?

HATED EGGS SINCE AGE 2 AND NEVER LOOKED BACK! :Lin:

Today I'm willing to eat certain fish; sushi, grouper, mahi mahi, shellfish except crab. NEVER ate fish as a kid. I still cannot eat strong "fishy" fish like Salmon, Blue Fish, Crab anything that you know came from the sea.

As a kid only two things I never ate were eggs and fish. I eat every vegetable, every fruit, and nearly every meat except some offal like brain.

My baseball coach.

If you ever have a coach who rode your ass and thought you hated him for it, wait until you have one that doesn't. Then you'll realize that the guy who rode your ass did it because he gave a shit.

My baseball coach remembered my name/position/strengths 20 years later when I ran into him at a tailgate. My football coach didn't remember me the following spring when he saw me in the hallway at school.

You actually don't. I coach my twin daughters' soccer team, around eleven 8 year old girls, and the parents are totally fine with me yelling at them during games. Mind you....I'm not calling them little assholes.....but I'm definitely the loudest coach at the field that day. Funny thing.....they all respond positively to my yelling. They stop goofing around and they go do what I'm yelling at them to do. I've coached their team for 3 seasons now, 2 outdoor and 1 indoor season, and I've had almost every parent request to have their daughter be on my team every season.

Do they all get trophies at the end of the season win or lose? Yes. Not because I think they deserve them but because I want them to have a memory of the season when they're done. And some of my parents HATE that I give them trophies.

This for me, definitely. My mom's was the same way. Hated it. Not enough Ketchup in the bottle to eat it. Then my dad made it once on a hunting trip with peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Night and day difference. So I will occasionally make one myself like that.

Baseball.

I hated it. My parents made me play it. When I quit - they said - you are going to miss it. I didn't miss it at all.

I do like to watch it, though. It's relaxing. But holy shit was that a boring sport to play. Tennis, golf - all way more fun to play. Sitting and waiting for the ball to come to you. Sitting and waiting in the dug out to be able to bat. Boring AF.

Oh I don't. Mom made it with just ketchup though. And I meant not enough ketchup to dip it in to give it any flavor.

Know that I use? Chili sauce.

I still can't stand the liver, tuna casserole or green glop pile of cooked spinach that my parents would try to foist off on me when I was a kid. I do like my mom's meatloaf though.

My wife's meatloaf is weird. It's made from half hamburger and half ground up ham. I don't really care for it as it is pretty dry. I do like the glaze she puts on it, though. It's made from honey, brown sugar and yellow mustard, I believe. Definitely better than ketchup.

She also still can't make mashed potatoes to save her life. Besides that, she's an awesome cook.

Mushrooms and spinach top the list. Also, there were several dishes I automatically came to dislike because my mom (God rest her soul) was a terrible cook.

I thought pork chops were supposed to be half an inch thick and taste like sawdust, and that pot roast was supposed to be completely bland and unspiced. She also made the greasy ass mommaburgers with Wonder bread just like Eddie Murphy described in Raw. :D

I wasn't a picky eater but I hated PIZZA. I think I was around 6-7 when my Dad, who was 100% Sicilian, brought it home for the first time. I wouldn't eat because it looked like vomit to me and said that. I had a bowl of cereal, my Mom's go-to for my sister was a notoriously picky eater. Don't recall if she had any pizza though.

I think I was a teenager before I would try it.

Mashed potatoes was another but it wasn't until my parochial school got a hot-meal cafeteria made them from a package. They had gluey texture and bland flavor. They ruined me for eating mashed potatoes ever again, because they would make me retch. So every time I saw them again I got that retchy urge. Nuns, not the lay teachers, forced us to eat everything on my plate. So I would wait 'til one of them weren't around and shove it down my milk carton as fast as I could. Or as my mother said I would stick 'em in my uniform pocket where they'd dry up and she had to clean it.

It was only once I had a child, that I made them again and liked them. Because she loved them with roast beef.

What about school?

I couldnt have cared less about it, until my late twenties anyway

Went to college then as married father of two, working two jobs and taking night school... just couldnt believe how much I enjoyed applying myself and learning like that, it was quite the epiphany

Made the deans list with a 3.8 two of my three semesters

"Wow, school rocks when you're old enough to see and understand the benefits"

But with two jobs and a family to raise at the time, the logistics of it all overwhelmed me, so three semesters it was... wouldnt trade that time spent though, much was learned

Got a perfect final exam score in my psych 101 class
