I don't know. I want to say Chiefs, but the defense just won't let me. Hard to say they're better than the Pats when they lost to them. The Rams are solid in offense and on defense. They may have faced an easier schedule so far, but I think that I have to say the Rams right now.

This our first 3 out of 4 games were on the road. I think the Patriots game did us more good in the loss makes us humble and hungry to thrive and makes us a better team down the stretch.

Denver defense was tough as nails and our offense could carve them like pumpkins.

Our defense may not be the best but with Dee Ford getting pressure he creates opportunity for others to make plays. We have up and coming defensive players that are just going get better we need them.

I don't believe in the Rams based on their SOS. They've played some talent-challenged rosters. We should have beaten the Pats in their house. I'd say that it's a coin flip between us and the Saints and we won't really know until we meet them in the Super Bowl.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of difference between the teams we've beat and the teams they've beat. A couple of common wins against crap teams like Denver and SF. Both have beat the Chargers. Steelers probably a little better than GB. Cinci and Seattle and/or Minnesota probably a push. We have a close road loss to probably the best opponent between the two teams, but they're undefeated so I give an edge to LA.

They certainly have the two least impressive wins in regards to the Raiders and the Cards. As a matter of fact, they have the 3 least impressive wins since the 49ers they beat were considerably worse than the 49ers we beat. I'm trying to look at it in an almost Olympic-ish scoring manner. In other words, eliminate wins against crappy teams(49ers, Broncos, Raiders)and focus on the decent to good teams both have beaten. To me, that's close to a push. The fact the Rams are undefeated gives them a slight edge in my mind. But it's all moot because this question willl be answered Sunday. If the Rams beat the Saints in NOLA, only the most homeristic amongst us would say they aren't the best team in the NFL currently. If what I think will happen, happens then both teams are 8-1 and just need to hold serve until 11/19 when it can really be settled at least in terms of the regular season.

To be noted: I'm only trying to look at it as impartially as possible for shits and giggle and discussion sake. Fuck the Rams. Hope we beat them 49-2.

It's not only the teams you beat but HOW you beat them - and how you loose. Agree the defense holds us back but we definitely have an edge on the offense. Tough call, still I think we've got an edge.
These Rams do not impress me. I'm more concerned the Pats.

Heart says Chiefs, Head says Saints. Their defense is playing really well. The Sparklers and Cheatriots are close behind the Rams and Chiefs as well. Don't sleep on the Squealers either. Lots of good teams out there. Just wish the AFC Least would get it's act together and field some sort of competition. I am so tired of the Patriots... And their fans...

Can make a case for the top 4. Rams haven't lost, so by default I guess.

I'd go with the Saints. Now that they've got that running game going and the defense is turning back around, they're tough.

Once KC and the Rams have identical records, the head to head result will determine the better team.

You are what your record says you are. But you are also what your schedule says you are.

Ergo, the Rambs are no better than us. They are worser. As for the Saints, who actually knows? We need to play them to find out.

At this point, we match up well with anybody's defense (including those two teams). If the defense can just improve a little bit, we have a legitimate shot to run the table.

I mean, right now? Rams just beat Aaron Rodgers. They have the #1 total offense and we have the #2. Flip those for scoring offense.

But they have the 8th scoring and 15th total defense.

We are 23rd and 31st, respectively.

Actually, the argument could be made that the Packers' third-string RB beat Aaron Rogers.

No way in hell does Rogers not move the ball 40 yards to set up the winning FG in that situation.

Can't just look at the sum of the parts.

I think the Chiefs' offense is considerably harder to stop than the Rams'. And the defense can get situational stops.

Look at it this way:

Current playoff teams:

AFC:
KC
NE
Pittsburgh
Houston

WC:
LAC
Cincinnati

NFC:
LAR
NO
Washington
Chicago

WC:
Carolina
Seattle

We have played 4 of these teams and won 3. (LAC (A), Pitt (A), Cincinnati (H), NE (A) :cuss: )
LA Rams have played 2 of these teams and won both (LAC (H), Seattle (A))

I fall on the S.O.S. side of the equation and truly feel that the Chiefs are the better team. Week 11 will tell the story.

Yea. At this point, there is little room for discussion. They just took the Super Bowl champs to the wood shed. And just recently convincingly handled the Rams. They are the best right now.

RaidersOftheCellar
11-20-2018, 01:02 PM
The Saints are a machine offensively right now. Everything they do seems to work and they rarely stumble. The Chiefs obviously have a highly productive offense too, but it seems like they have to fight and scrape a littler harder than the Saints and are more mistake-prone. Due to a weaker line, less consistent running game, Brees's experience, etc.

The Saints probably have a slight edge on defense too.

That doesn't mean KC couldn't beat them in the Superbowl. Mahomes would keep the Chiefs in it, and it would probably be a similar game to this one with turnovers being the difference.
