Best of luck in HOU if that has indeed become official. Clears up cap space in 2019. Go Sutton!

More like, "WR that can't get separation anymore and drops too many balls".

Thomas is in that "Dwayne Bowe" stage of his career where he's a big body receiver who's slowing down considerably and has dookie hands.

Well, they weren't going to pay both DT and Sanders in 2019... cap hits were too massive. DT has declined a bit and Sanders is clearly still playing at a high level. Sutton has become a bigger fixture in the offense lately and will slide into that role.

I like it quite a bit...

Not even. Thomas is a player in a pattern of decline. The Texans are just looking for a warm body to replace Fuller who they lost to an ACL.

A lot of WR’s available, and Pats are in the market.

I’d hate to see Desean or Golden land there.

Also, pretty surprised no one is sniffing around Oakland for Jordy. With a decently accurate QB he is still a dangerous possession WR.

Denver isn’t worse. Thomas isn’t the same player he was a few years ago. This will just get Sutton more targets, which is a good thing for Denver. Thomas still holds some value, in certain situations, which is why I’m glad he didn’t end up going to the Pats.

Plus, Denver saved some money off the cap. Smart move for them.

Stats below YTD for DT vs Sutton...

36/56 for 402 yards (11.2 YPC) and 3 TDs
17/37 for 324 yards (19.1 YPC) and 2 TDs

Again, same size/build/talent... great draft pick (shocker) and it's time for him to move up and be the guy for the rest of the year.

Very good comparison actually.

In all honesty I don't think the Texans really moved the needle at all, they lost Fuller and gained Thomas which I'm not even sure is a lateral move. Fuller's top end speed gives the Texans the ability to stretch the field and not hone in on Hopkins as much. Thomas hasn't been impressive the last couple of seasons but I still think is a slightly above average target.

Really glad the Patriots didn't get Thomas though.
