with Hitchens banged up, I'd think so. Kind of looking forward to seeing the kid play some.

I believe that it was Neimann that came in when he got hurt. So, it would make sense to me that he would be the starter. Looking at our ILB depth, I don't know who else they would start. It would be him or DOD. But I don't think that DOD is really good against the run. He usually comes in for passing downs, so I would expect it to be Neimann as the starter, but DOD should see extra snaps too on passing downs.

As a Hawkeye fan, I love Niemann, but he is not big enough to be great run stopper, yet... He is a competitor though.

I'd only point out none of our ILBs have been great run stoppers so far this season.

I love Niemann, would love to see him in on some 3rd and longs... but he is not a 3 down linebacker and I have never said otherwise. He may develop into one if he can add some size.

He's not that far off, size-wise. Maybe at 240 he could be a force. I still remember that hit during preseason and it was a thing of beauty.
