So if the Rams feel it important to acclimate by practicing in Colorado, why does Andy not give a F*#@?

Because Andy knows they have Marcus Peters the Human toast.

So I just read if Seattle loses to the Packers Thursday the Rams can clinch their division with a win against KC.

I'll be betting the Seahawks Thursday.

After we beat the Rams they will spiral into wild-card status.

Nah. Alex Smith won’t pass them up.

Just saw Cooper Kupp tore his ACL - gonzo for the year - meanwhile we have Sammy.

I hope Mahomes throws 6 TDs - all to Sammy Watkins against Marcus Peters - then after he freaks out and talks about eating BBQ with Big Red because we liked the match up.

It's almost unbelievable to hear Peters sticking up for Alex Smith. But I literally sat right next to George Blowfish last season who briefly implored Alex to get into the game (vs Buffalo), and Peters jumped in, "Why you gotta be so mean?"

That relationship is like the odd couple.

I was able to overlook all the on and off-field antics last year, but finding out Peters was an Alexsexual was the last straw.

This game probably comes down to whose pass rushers are more effective. Mahomes can escape the pocket to the outside against their inside rush which should open up some nice plays. We have to get them in some passing situations to really take advantage of our pass rushers and cause Goff to be a bit inaccurate or indecisive. If they have third and short all day that could really negate our pass rush.

The one thing I don’t want to see at all though is Gurley running free out of the backfield. They don’t utilize the TE and with Kupp our we should be able to really focus on Gurley and not let him beat us on his own.

One thing I don't worry too much about is our offensive line getting bullied. They may get beat quite a bit because Donald and Suh are daunting, but they are not going to back down.

Erving is a great athlete, Wylie not so much. But they are both nasty fuckers who do not give a shit and will not put up with much shit either. Donald and Suh are going to hit them in the mouth and they will almost certainly hit back.

How did we go from wanting to run Erving out of town and not even knowing who Wylie and Reiter were to having such confidence against arguably the best interior line combination in the NFL?

I kinda agree though. Our interior OL may get decimated against the Rams, but at least it won't be because they're all finesse.

The only way teams are going to stop the Chiefs offense is if they keep the ball, win the TOP game and keep Chiefs offense on the sidelines...a Herman Edwards wet dream.

I imagine the Rams will run Gurley 'til his legs fall off and will dare the Chiefs to stop it. Chiefs can't stop the run, they give up 5+ypc (but so do the Rams). Rams should gameplan to control the clock, keep the ball and the Chiefs offense on the sidelines.

I don't think Goff is gonna take 5-7step drop backs all game, not w/ Ford and a healthy Houston salivating across the LOS. That's a recipe of disaster.

I stated this in another thread, but I'd take the under in this game. The Rams are just as bad as the Chiefs are at stopping the run, so Reid needs to feed feed feed feed Kareem Hunt as much as possible.

Final prediction:
Chiefs 23
Rams 20

How do the Rams stop us?

Their run defense is marginally worse than ours, their ILB’s suck, they haven’t been able to stop TE’s all year, Talib is out and Peters is a tire fire.

I see a lot of misdirection by both teams to try to confuse the pass rush.

Bottomline I think our defense can make a few more stops than theirs can, especially with Kupp our.

Sure, but I think that's all it really needs to be. Make the D run a bit, get them off balance just enough, and then one of our four All Pro weapons can get open and make a play.

Also, I think Andy has been saving some of his best stuff for late. I think this week's SI profile mentioned a Texas Tech play they installed that they haven't even run yet, but it's supposedly one of Patrick's favs.

I've been critical of Andy Reid in the past, but if there's one thing I trust him to do, it's to keep innovating on offense. I don't think he's close to out of ideas.

I have seen enough break downs of games the last few seasons to confidently say that's a bunch off horseshit.

The ESPN article on Reid and Mahomes pretty much laughs at that idea. Yes its "based" on WC offense concepts but has a metric shit ton of other stuff thrown in as well.

Add in the throws Mahomes has the ability to make and there is nothing "normal" about this offense.

He uses the motion and funky stuff presnap and early in the play but essentially it's just his normal WCO.

That "presnap" stuff is there so Mahomes can see if the defense shows their hand. If he sees a favorable matchup, he changes the play. They are not doing it just to look fancy and dress up plays. I know it is hard to believe that Mahomes is this good at reading defenses so early in his career, but he is.

Mahomes did this in his first start at Denver- he knew the blitz was coming every time and made the proper read. The last two times they played us, the Donks tried to go with more exotic blitz packages, but by halftime, Mahomes was on to them and torched them on big plays. New England did the same thing- they did a great job of disguising their coverages until Mahomes and Andy figured it out and reprogrammed his computer. We owned them the second half.

I suppose one way to look at it is there are only so many routes or plays to be run and the WC offense has been so bastardized you could say every team runs a version of it but that's kind of lazy IMO.

Rams cant generate much pass rush. When they do its almost entirely coming from the inside. Fowler may have a bigger impact this sunday, but the chiefs may have the best tackles in the league. Rams also are not stopping the run game. Hunt could easily get 200 yards combined. With out talib, peters has been getting torched.

Chiefs play the RPO extremely well. Our linebackers get faked tf out by a simple stutter-step. Our d is going to have to get takeaways because I don’t see them straight up stopping the chiefs defensively.

we're allowing 30ppg against teams that are not oakland, sf, or arizona. if we can hold kc to 33 that would be close to a miracle and no excuse if we don't win if that happens.

I'm actually pretty confident that the Chiefs will win this game by 2 scores. Donald may the defensive MVP but it's basically him, a declining Suh, a bust at OLB in Fowler and an above average safety in Joyner. No one else on their defensive roster is worth mentioning. They are bad. Double Donald every play, chip Fowler with Hunt if needed and Mahomes should have all the time he needs to drop 400+ and 6 TDs.

I'm much more confident in the Chiefs defense stopping the Rams offense with our pass rush. Goff folds like origami under pressure.

The Saints are a good team but not Chiefs good.

Fantasy outlook,but still.....

WRs
Tyreek Hill
: We’ve seen Hill moved into the slot more and more as the season’s gone on in order to evade top tier cornerbacks and bracketing coverage, including 44 percent of his routes in Week 10. He’s scored six touchdowns on 34 targets in the slot this season, but the Chiefs don’t even need to move him there to win in Week 11, as his matchup against Marcus Peters
is a good one. The only cornerback who’s allowed more yards and touchdowns than Peters in coverage is Malcolm Butler
, which says a lot. Peters has continually been burned this season, so much that the Rams are likely going to have to dedicate a safety to bracket Hill all game, which could give them issues with Kelce, Hunt, and others. The only way to slow down Hill is by getting hands on him at the line of scrimmage, which is something Peters has been awful with this year, as he’s seen 10 targets against press coverage, and allowed eight receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns. On top of all that, the Chiefs had Peters on their roster prior to last year, so they know his weaknesses more than most. Hill is an elite WR1 play.

I don’t know why, but I feel very confident in this game. I think our guys come out hungry after beating a Cardinals team in a way that left something to be desired offensively. I think the defense is starting to click with an identity built on rushing the passer and playing tight coverage on WRs that makes it difficult for them to be wide open in a short amount of time (before the rush gets home).

I don’t see KC scoring less than 35, and unless we simply cannot keep Gurley from running for 10-15 play drives, I like our chances.

You'd think so, but im not sure they have the team speed. This is why Reek goes off on 'em everytime.

Chargers have to get over the mental hurdle against KC. Until they actually do win, I’m not convinced they really believe that they can. They just don’t seem to play the same vs. the Chiefs.

I'm more confident we win this game than i've ever been.

Matter of fact, i wouldn't be surprised if the Chiefs are in complete control the whole game.

I think our corners matchup well with their receivers. They don't have a game breaking TE. And have they faced a pass rush like ours?

MY biggest concern is Gurley catching passes out of the backfield.

I’d just shade the FS to Cooks and get physical with Woods/new slot WR. See if Goff can handle the heat that may or may not be coming at him.

Their best chance is to run Gurley 25-30 times imo and have 6+ ypc, chewing clock.

You do have a point...

No argument. And I also agree that McVay has copied, or at least appeared to have copied, a lot of Reid's plays.

That said, they are a good football team. Or as somebody pointed out earlier, 'Football Collective'

Could be. There's a lot of tickets available on stubhub, but that doesn't mean anything. 5:30 is a bad kickoff time for them.

But this is just another sign that they're scared. First they moved their practice to Colorado Springs, and now this.

They got man handled by father time and really aren't beating teams that ain't shit with ease. After us, only the bears are their toughest opponents FFS.

They know if they play the saints again in the playoffs it's over. Hell, after Darnold gets suspended after whatever bone head shit he's going to pull Monday, it might be over anyway. They are the benefit of a shit schedule and they know it.

Crunched some stats from our past 6 games in which Chiefs' defense is:

3RD in yards allowed (280.83 per game)

3RD in completion percentage allowed (60.83%)

1ST in opponent passer rating allowed (79.82)

1ST in sacks recorded (21)

3RD in tackles for loss recorded (30)

1ST in QB hits (42)

5TH in scoring allowed (20.33 ppg)

Also during this time, the Chiefs have surrendered only 8 passing TDs and have snagged 9 INTs.

Sure there were a few suspect offenses in the last six but even teams like the Jaguars and Broncos were coming off impressive performances before we buzzsaw'd them. They still give up too many yards on the ground but it is a marked improvement from the beginning of the year when we all thought an average defense would carry the day. In a lot of important categories (sacks/PPG) they are now near or at the top of the league. One stat where they've really regressed in the last six weeks was in 3rd down conversions which was 43.04% -- good for only 25th in the league.

Here's how PFF ranks individual players:

It's an interesting comparison. We're generally better at the offensive skill positions, though not by much.

Their offensive line is rated much higher, though it makes me suspect that there's a Gurley effect in play. (Either that or Gurley's not so good and these guys lift him.)

They're a bit better at safety, though we're better at corner through the nickel position (thanks to Marcus Peters).

Our outside pass rush is way better.

Their ILBs are a bit better.

Their DL is way better, though the difference is pretty much just Donald. However, Donald is significant.

Patrick Mahomes II 2 3 Goff
Hunt 6 10 Gurley
Hill 6 5 Woods
Watkins 29 10 Cooks

Rams offensive line is more important to gurley than the other way around IMO. Their line is filthy, arguably have two top-5 guys on it. Whitworth in particular is just a moving brick wall.

If we had their line, it’d be over. We would score on literally every drive.

I like KC in this one because the Rams are a NFL worst at two things KC excels at.

#1. The Rams give up a league-high 5.20 yards per carry , which includes an NFL-high 2.12 yards per carry after first contact. Hunt is a monster after first contact.

#2. The Rams have given up a league-high 11 receptions of 40 yards or more and have given up the sixth-highest deep completion percentage. Hill vs. Peters is a match-up nightmare....way too slow to handle him. If they cheat a safety his way...Kelce will kill them. This a "pick your poison" situation as LA doesn't have the defensive horses to match up.

There are other reasons...like LA doesn't have strong edge rushers. Mahomes can escape Donald/Suh. Miller/Chubb combo would have more of an impact for how PM plays...LA doesn't have a real TE threat and their "chain-mover" WR just blew his ACL.

I think this injury costs them at least one possession...a failed 3rd down conversion.

Chiefs are getting better as the season goes on...Rams seem to be regressing a bit.

Donald is gonna get his but I think Andy will have a plan to mitigate his impact.

We always got by against Houston when Watt was in his prime so I think we can do the same against Donald and LA, who aren’t as good as those Houston defenses were. Not to mention we’ve always held up against guys like Mack and Miller pretty well. They haven’t wrecked games against Kansas City since Reid got here.

It’s going to be hell for both defenses on Monday night because both offenses are so good at manipulation.

Andy shows a basic formation and does about 12 different plays with it. He usually changes the formation with little time for the defense to adjust. Jet sweeps, OL acting like they are kicking out for screens on plays that don’t have screens, etc. McVay runs basically the same offense as Andy.

Gonna be hard for defenses to know where the ball is going.

I feel sorry for the poor bastard LB on either team that gets forced to cover a receiver due to a formation change LMAO
