Speaking of explosive plays I saw that Kareem has 5 scoring plays of 50 yards of more since the beginning of last year. That is second to.....Tyreek!

What an offense the big man has created here! And the trigger man will only get better from here.

Interior line has to be stout in this one, the Saints were able to move the ball so easily because Suh and Donald were mostly taken care of with the OL.

The biggest issue will of course be can the defense do anything because the Saints managed to turn the Rams into a passing team.

Bro, have you watched the Cards play at all this year? They just don't have a chance. That any given Sunday shit does not play here. We'd dickstomp them 100/100 times. The only hope they have is hurting Pat, and even then Henne would come in throw TD's on them and we'd shred them with Kareem.

We have NOTHING to worry about. This is going to be a glorified scrimmage.

I remember Bill Maas saying "All we have to do is show up" when they were playing a horrible New England team back in the 90s. That team punched the Chiefs right in the mouth and got out to a 14 zip lead in the first qtr. the Chiefs did win the game but they had to fight their asses off to win it.

their d line is easily their biggest strength. Aside from that, I’m not particularly impressed. Just like our D, their biggest weakness is the middle.

That stadium will be Arrowhead South by the time the game is over. An entirely new market down there will be stealing Chiefs jerseys and wearing them proudly.

With Peters playing so badly and Talib out, I just don't think that secondary matches up with our weapons at all. Their best hope is to pressure Mahomes into mistakes, but so far he has been historically amazing outside the pocket.

Chiefs have just as good of a running game as the Lambs. I think we can gash them on the ground by doubling Donald and getting to that second level. We know how Peters tackles.

Their offense is a handful, no doubt, and will put up 30 on us, but the Chiefs are built for a shootout. Mahomes can get us a TD in 12 seconds if we need one. As long as we don't make a bunch of dumb penalties to extend their drives, I think we can get enough stops to still win by 10.

Or if the refs are on the "LA Express"...which they already are. If you watched the Chargers game last week....the WR stepped out of bounds with half his foot and they still let the TD stand. It was a Patriots-level call...even Chargers fans were "WTF".

Like I said earlier...this game has implications for BOTH LA teams. It's really the Chargers best shot at gaining a game on KC....then think of the ratings on that Thursday night game.

I dont see a fairly officiated game in either of those two...so KC is going to have to be humming.

I don't know why the Rams would go all the way to Colorado Springs when there are venues much closer, within driving distance even, that would allow them to practice at a higher altitude. Shit, Rim of the World High School is only 2 hours away and it's at 6k-6.5k.

If you can get stops early in the game, which are more likely to happen when players aren't as tired...you have potential of getting 14pt swings at the end/start of the half if you play it right. At a bare minimum you possibly get 2 extra possessions your opponent otherwise you not get.

While that may present a problem for the Chiefs, as Mexico City sits at about 2000ft higher than Denver, keep in mind the Rams would also have to get acclimated to it's elevation just as the Chiefs would. So I wouldn't think it'd play into any team's advantage/disadvantage over the other.

I'm guessing this is a loss - which is fine, you're gonna drop 2 or 3 games along the way even if you're a great team.

They are the best team in the league on offense and we're one of the worst on defense. They have balance on offense, they're a top team both running and passing, so we aren't going to solve their offense with scheme.

Their defense is middle of the road at this point, but they aren't especially weak against the run or the pass, they're more or less balanced on that side of the ball too.

This is the kind of team you'd rather be in a big game, a team that's not only a top team in some categories but one without a huge glaring weakness for another great team to attack.

Probably a track meet, so who knows. Maybe someone takes over the game or Goff doesn't show up or something, but if we drop this game I'm not going to be too upset about it. This is the last of the three really tough opponents on our schedule and we should cruise to that home divisional playoff game from here.

Every possession will have to be almost perfect. Our o-line will not stop the interior D-line of the Rams. Fisher will have a difficult time with Fowler thus he will need chip aid most of the night. It will be quick slants and outs all night to Hill and Watkins. No 5-7 step drops stepping up in the pocket that is for sure, BUT rolling out (bootleg) going after Peters will definitely off set the lack of pocket passing.:thumb: I think Hunt and Kelce will have a big night in the passing game because I don't see the Rams defense able to cover them. I don't see our o-line pushing the Rams interior d-line around opening holes for Hunt between the tackles.

BUT every possession will have to be almost perfect and the saving grace is that Andy knows exactly how to game plan against Peters and Peters knows what is coming and there is nothing he can do because Peters is still a coward and head case when it comes to hard nosed football still wanting to do his own thing and avoiding contact. McVey and Phillips will be in his ear all week and it still won't help.

I get that, with playing against the Ramsí offense, the margin for error will be very slim.

Isnít that true for the Ramsí offense as well? Theyíll be attempting to match pace with (arguably) the best offense theyíve seen all year.

Yes, the Saints are great, but they really only have 1 great wide receiver. We have 2. We also have a much better tight end than the Saints and our running back is just as good as either of theirs.

This game is a coin flip at worst to me. One of the QBs will eventually miss a few throws. Thatíll probably decide the game.

I don't have a good barometer for the game yet - I've felt both ways, quite honestly. Earlier on I was worried - then became confident - then today; with us seemingly somewhat 'off' - I'm not sure what to expect. I think I'll be able to process an opinion as this week progresses. As much shit we give the Chiefs D for their inability to stop the run, the Rams happen to be just as bad.

We're on CP discussing how Gurley might rape the Chiefs D next week, but I can guarantee you on Rams boards they're saying the same thing about Hunt.

Keep Rams offense on the god damn bench by feeding Hunt over and over and over again. He can handle the load.

Problem is...Reid is too much of a chickenshit to do something like that, and he'll pass it 95% of the time and play right into the Rams DL game.

Iím not by any means an expert in field management, but it sure seems like the NFL should have had that field redone weeks ago so the sod could root itself and not be like grass carpet...which is likely what itís gonna be like if itís redone this close to the game.

Itís bad enough that both teams asked the NFL if they could move the game to Denver and the NFL refused.

Jesus. Vegas has set the over/under at 64.

Iím not sure Iíve ever seen one that high.

I think it should be 70. Rams and Saints put 80 on the board. I don't think the Chiefs or Rams defenses are good enough to keep this one below 70. Heck, the shitty Mexico field condition might actually be the best defense in this game.

You heard that wrong. Each team wanted their game @Denver to be moved to this week, so they could get acclimated to the altitude. The NFL said no to both teams obviously.

Makes sense, really.

I hate the donks, but it wouldn't be fair if they had to play both the Chiefs and the Rambs simultaneously.

Hmmm from what I have seen Rams fans are pretty damn cocky. I don't think they have the self-awareness to be worried about that.

They're all cocky bandwagon shitheads who were probably Raider fans this time last year.

I remember when the Chiefs played the St. Louis Rams the year after they won the Super Bowl. I was watching the game at a bar with some other Chief fans and there was a table of Rams assholes wearing brand new jerseys there who wouldn't stop running their mouths about how badly the Chiefs would get killed.

Instead, the Chiefs beat the crap out of them. All those pricks were gone by halftime. It was beautiful.

I feel a lot better about this game with Kupp (presumably) out. Cooks has always scared the life out of me, and being able to shade coverage more in his direction goes a long way.

End of the day though, Gurley is going to get his yards and we know that. The Rams are going to score and we know that. I wish we weren't operating with a patchwork interior OL (Donald look SO good yesterday), but I think the game comes down to Mahomes. If he has time, I think he'll carve up their secondary. And if he doesn't, hopefully he's able create some magic outside the pocket like he did in Denver.

LMAO

Thank god Andy won't do this.

RRPP is not the path to victory in any week.

How about R1P3? R3P1? Mixing it up is good. VERY good. And besides, once you count all of those lateral screens to the RB? You might as well be getting your Herm Edwards on.

Itís bad enough that both teams asked the NFL if they could move the game to Denver and the NFL refused.

"So, uh Rodger"?

"Yeah"?

"Sean and I have been talking, and well"...

"Well what"?

"You know how Denver and Mexico City are both basically shithole"-

After the final whistle blew as the Los Angeles Rams beat the Seattle Seahawks, 36-31, DL Aaron Donald had a problem.

A problem with Seattle Sehawks C Justin Britt.

The problem really didn’t originate in this game or with Britt, but that’s where we should start: at less than 1:30 left to go in the game with the Seahawks down five points with the ball needing a touchdown and looking to start a drive from their own 25-yard line.

On the very first play of the possession, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was pressured by EDGE Dante Fowler, Jr., who is having quite the start to his Rams career, into forcing what looked like an intentional grounding. Wise to play through the whistle and play as if it were a fumble, Donald picked up the ball and began to return it down to about the 20-yard line.

Until Britt laid a cheap shot on him as Donald was giving the ball back to the refs:

In the sense of things overall, it’s a cheap shot on one of the Rams’ best players. And it comes at the end of a particularly chippy divisional rivalry.

So you can understand why Donald was, in the moment, heated.

And if you need to know the sincerity of how dirty it was, peep Rams CB Nickell Robey-Coleman letting Britt know that’s just not how the game’s played even when you’re 5’8”, 180 lbs. standing up to someone who’s 6’6”, 315 lbs.

That was never a scrap NRC was gonna win, and Donald wasn’t about to let him have at it anyway:

And if things had ended there with unnecessary roughness flags offsetting on both, it would have been the billionth time things got scrappy in a game like this.

But what’s perhaps lingering further and into Overreaction Monday was Donald putting his helmet back on and seeking Britt out on the Seahawks sideline after the game was over:

Now some have suggested this was equally unprofessional of Donald. Some have gone so far as to suggest he deserves a suspension Chiefs Fans. Put more succinctly by ESPN blogger Lindsey Thiry, many considered it to be “not good.”

Two keys to this game IMHO:

1. Double and triple team Aaron Donald using Sherman or Ware as an extra blocker to protect Mahomes
2. Do everything we can to key on Gurley, thinking he will get the ball on EVERY offensive play including passing plays

We also need to keep penalties under 6-7 while we sucker Marcus Peters into 2 unsportsmanlike conduct so he gets booted! ROFL

Why Not?

The NFL has blown it. We have two of the best teams in what could be a Super Bowl preview and the damn game is being played out of the country. I'm totally against regular season games being played out of the country. I'm no longer a season ticket holder but if I was and they moved one of our home games out of the country I'd be pissed considering and especially considering the NFL makes me purchases preseason game tickets I don't want. The Rams are overrated. I'm just sad that the Chiefs won't be the first team to beat them. They've struggled in every game outside of the Chargers when playing anything close to decent competition. Seahawks have come down to the last possession twice. Denver was a 3 point game. Packers had the game, gave up a score, then fumbled the ball on the kickoff return. Minnesota was driving to win and Cousins fumbled. Saints abused and exposed their offense.

The Chiefs are the better offense, better special teams and IMO a much better defense. The Chiefs win convincingly. My only concern is the interior offensive line with injuries but overrall, I trust the Chiefs defense to stop the Rams more than I think the Rams will stop the Chiefs.

Since 1975, the Denver Broncos sport the best home record in the NFL. Since 2007, the Colorado Rockies have the 14th-best home record in the MLBóyet rank dead last in away record during that same span. Since 2003 (the longest data set I could find), the Denver Nuggets have the fourth-best home record in the NBA yet rank 13th in away record.

Coincidence? I wouldn't count on it. Denver's sky-high altitude rages war on visitor's bodies. The air is actually thinner, meaning each breath they draw contains less oxygen than they're accustomed to. It's also more difficult for the body to move that oxygen from the lungs into the bloodstream. This isn't a big deal for tourists, but for those who are expected to undergo intense physical activityósuch as professional athletesóthe effects can be suffocating. Heart rate, breathing rate and blood pressure all increase substantially as the body goes into overdrive in an attempt to deliver more oxygen to cells. Fatigue increases and rate of perceived exertion increases. It's a stressful change, and one that favors the hometown team in venues like Mile High Stadium, Coors Field and the Pepsi Center.
