If some son-of-a-bitch Missouri resident, let's call him Miles Cowperthwait IV, got a card that allowed him to grow 6 marijuana plants in one year...

What 6 strains should he grow?

Mr. Cowperthwait prefers high THC content with an affinity for pure Indicas, even though they set him off on a coughing jag so severe it makes everyone watching him think he's checking out for real this time. Even though he manages to utter the word "smooth" in between wretches.

If Mr. Cowperthwait don't cough, he don't get off.

What are the best 6 strains for Mr. Cowperthwait to grow?

Dinny

This track on an album I bought around 1970 or so makes me want to try Acapulco Gold.

There are endless amounts of strains to pick from. Personally, I'd stay away from feminized seed. While you can find a good few select varieties. Be forewarned. Feminized seed nowadays is produced by taking a female plant and essentially stressing it out to the point where it produces male flowers. This will produce a female seed, but it will always have those hermaphroditic traits buried some where in it's genes. So a good rule of thumb is stick with regular seed and have good phenotype selection.

There are several breeders worth their salt. Don't focus so much on breeders stated THC content as that can vary from pheno to pheno. Focus on flavors, smells, calyx and bud structure.

My six picks for a beginner grower are:

TGA/Subcool Dank - Vortex
Bodhi - Sunshine Daydream
TGA/Subcool Dank - Qush(look for the Bubba leaning black pheno)
Jinxproff Genetics - Safety Meeting
Mr. Nice Seeds - NL5 x Haze
Brothers Grimm Seeds - Apollo 13

Many people are saying, although these rumors are unconfirmed, that Mr. Cowperthwait has previous experience growing both indoor and outdoor.

Miles has assured me that access to all these different strains has him confused and slightly overwhelmed, shocked and stunned.

Very stunned.

Did he do this in a state where its illegal? I've always wanted to but the risk is so not worth the reward

Why would you start 6 different strands if you can only have 6 plants?

So you start 6 plants from seeds, they grow, bud, harvest- then what? Start over with seeds? Inefficient and seeds are expensive.

Better to start with 3 plants, clone off of these for a total of 6, now your harvest is staggered and keep cloning as the plants are harvested.

You get more yield this way. If you want more variety- take one type out of service and start a new kind using the same process.

Phenotype selection is very important prior to finding a strain worth cloning long term. And I agree, perpetual grow is the way to go.

What constitutes a plant? A mature flowering plant or a tap root? Is it maybe 6 mature plants and 12 immature plants? Is there a limit on immature plants in veg cycle?

og kush ftw, or anything with higher yields and shorter maturation times. 6 plants ain't a lot. Got to maximize your medicine, considering how much work you're gonna be putting in.

I'm very curious about this ...

Can someone explain how it is that Mr. Cowperthwait was awarded a certificate to allow the cultivation of marijuana? I need one of those.

Thanks, Mr. wazu.

So, in MO you can apply for a medical marijuana license? (I'll google that up.)

That's fabulously wonderful. I can't help but think of all the friends who did pretty serious time for possession way back when.

They had the legislation up for a vote here in TN, but it failed. Meanwhile, the pharmas continue to make billions selling opiates and the more enlightened (read; good) doctors give you a wink and a nod and tell you to "keep doing what you're doing". Sometimes the term "social insanity" doesn't seem to cover it.

Congratulations to all the MO peeps, though. Glad to know that you have that opportunity.

Yeah, doctors can prescribe for a number of ailments in Missouri now. It'll be taxed at 4%. If you have a license you can grow a few plants in addition to being able to purchase at dispensaries. It was passed as an amendment so it should be pretty much iron clad.

Obviously it will take a little while to get all the rules sorted out. This KC Star article has the most up-to-date information that I have found:

Remember, the fed just rules that if you have medical marijuana, you can’t buy or own firearms. Food for thought.

Saw them live in 1978 (or '77?) at the Mississippi River Jam. Paul Goddard absolutely STOLE their entire set. It looked like Ronnie Hammond could have skipped a few lines before he went on.

Mr. Cowperthwait asked me to thank everyone for their suggestions.

There will be much researching of information gleaned here and the "Strain You're Currently Smoking" thread.

It will take our state probably a year or so to actually be able to do anything, so he should have plenty of time to arm his self with much 411 about 420.

Personally i don't think it matters all that much.

Since the legalization of pot here in Cali there's been a huge boom in exotic strainds and what i've found is that while there are thousands of creative and interesting names, the differences are subtle, and if all you care about is being high then the differences are even less.

Sure, the nug looks different. They may smell different. Named different. Some more expensive than others. But the variance in how high you get depends on the quality of the bud, not the type of bud.

I smoked some stuff two weeks ago that was almost $20 for a gram. I saw it and thought it looked amazing. Some shit called "Black Jesus". It was so crystalized it looked like God jizzed on a weed nug.

But it didn't get me any higher than your basic quality nug. I woulda been better off getting the 3g's for $20 deal.

Alright, well, despite my last comment, the most popular buds in my circle are:

"____" Cookies. Any of the "_____" Cookies really, though Girl Scout Cookies being the most prominent/popular name.

Dosi-dos is another popular one.

Your common Go-To's being Sour Diesel, Blue Dream and Sour Tangie and anything "OG".

White WidowI didn't have time for specifics last time. White Widow is a 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid, THC is 20-25%. It's resistant to molds, bugs and cold and is generally grown indoors. An auto-flower version of White Widow is available which is a huge help with Low maintenance and a 8-week cultivation time.

Good luck
