It's actually a natural mutation in which these bulls lack myostatin, which is the protein responsible for inhibiting muscle growth. They've been studied to death to try to find out how they can replicate this in humans.

Steer may be largest cow. Can someone who's lived in a rural area point out for the city folk what's wrong with that label, please?

Looking into it further, it's reported as both steer and cow depending on the article. Owner said it's a steer...

Herschel Walker claims to have never lifted weights. Allegedly it's all calisthenics.
I don't think Lebron James started weight training until later in his career, but I'm 99% sure he was on PED's the whole time he was in Miami. There's more than a little circumstantial evidence for that one.

While this is undoubtedly a very large bovine, it seems like there's some intentional exaggeration going on here. The article says it weighs around 3000 lbs (around 1400 kg), and this article talks about a variety of breeds that can reach that weight.
It looks to me like someone found a really big cow and put it among a bunch of young steers to make it look gigantic.
(But to be clear, I'm not an expert on livestock.)

Cow is a female that has had at least one calf. Heifer is a female that has not had a calf. Bull is a male that is old enough, able, to breed. Steer is a bull calf that has been castrated.

Steers aren’t meant to have a seven year life span.
But given the rise of the LGBTQ+ movement, steers are apparently people too.

That was my thought , and yes those are like 600-800 pound steers to make it deceptive.
Bull = nuts intact
Steer = nuts removed neutered
Cow = female that has had a calf
Heifer = female that has not given birth.

The steer appears to be a Holstein (very big bovine primarily dairy cattle). The rest of the bovine appear to be young steers of a completely different breed. Holsteins are huge compared to most other cattle.
