AFC West showdown night game = roughly 90% chance of being epic. Too many classics to count.
I was at the Vanover TD return gamve vs. the Chargers. Still the greatest sporting event I've ever seen live.

I LOVE screaming at Rivers and seeing him gut flustered from crowd noise, he is my absolute favorite QB to get after.
I am currently 74-9 in arrowhead. I am taking my chargers fan buddy who I have taken with me 6 times and is 0-6 when in attendance at arrowhead.
Berry is back.
Red on red.

I wish we did the TNF after our bye week I think it's stupid to play after 4 days and NFL is hypocritical about "player safety"
This should be fun though.
We got to cut out the penalties and the crowed makes the Chargers ears bleed and make them have extra penalties.

I want you all to know that I am staying at the Intercontinental where I believe the Chargers also are, and just a few minutes ago I had to inform the man at the front desk that the water in my room wasn't working. He and I then checked four other rooms on different floors and it's a hotel-wide issue.
Naturally this isn't the most convenient thing for me, but if it disadvantages Philip Rivers and keeps Keenan Allen up at night, I'll take it. Hope those motherfuckers are as parched as I am.

Ok so they blitz blitz blitz and Patrick rolls out to his right or left and throws daggers in their hearts.
Chargers better be Ware because Spencer Ware is going run the fuck over them. He is also good at picking up the blitz.

I know. I'm dumbfounded when i hear them speak. It's like do they not watch the games? Do they not see week after week Patrick Mahomes II ripping the NFL apart? I'm also tired of the narrative that defenses are handcuffed well maybe but they are better athletes today than they were in the 80s and 90s and more game tape available and also I think quarterbacks today are better because they've watched the greats and elevated their own styles of play.
We wouldn't have the same success with Philip Rivers as we do with Patrick Mahomes II i can say that with confidence.

But with Mahomes they talk like it was luck or we can’t count on him to do it again.

If you got a quarterback that can do a "no look pass" then i'd take the team with the quarterback that can make a "no look pass".

The no-look pass was fun to watch, but what matters is his understanding and ability to literally no-look-off safeties and LB's.

It pisses me off too and I think they bend over backwards to avoid giving us credit. Hell Skip Baylesses dumbass said Pat closed his eyes and threw up a prayer on 4th down.
With that being said, this franchise has a lengthy history of choking in the
playoffs and we all know about Andy Reid’s bad decision making in big games. Until the Chiefs can prove they can make a big run in the playoffs, that’s the burden the teams going to have to live with whether we like it or not.

Nogs don't watch games. Not that it would help much.
That NFL Channel Omar dude is even spending the entire week with the Chiefs (which means he should know the facts) and his reporting has been extremely inaccurate. For example, in his report for GMF, he said that Mahomes' first NFL "no-look pass" was in last year's Denver game (got that right) and was intended for Tyreek (it was Wilson) and it fell incomplete (it was complete for a nice gain and a first). After this remarkably wrong statement, all the Studio Nogs nodded their nogs in Knowing Agreement.
I like that Omar dude, but that's just one of several blatant mistruths he's broadcast since he got here.

You take that shit way too seriously. Especially considering how much love we get in general. I've been watching GMFB for the past 2 hours and they are slobbering all over us, every freaking second. Other fans must be bored as hell watching it even; this is like Cowboys treatment on steroid.

In for a 3rd straight AFC West championship!
This Chargers defense is hurting bad on the interior, and their statistical run defense reflects that. But we’re also hurting on the interior OL and at RB. Still, I hope to see the offense set the tone running the football in order to control the tempo of the game. Slow down the edge rushers of LAC by running it right at their face. Timely screens, traps, and draws should come in handy against this aggressive front.
Defensively, with no Gordon, the Chiefs need to double Keenan Allen on every single play. Rivers targets him more than 3x as much as any other player on their team in the last month or so. He’s the safety blanket who can extend drives for this team. It is imperative that we get LA into 3rd and long, as Rivers is very hard to get after for the most part. He just gets rid of the ball so fast. Expect to see 8 in coverage on plenty of snaps and just a few blitzes through the A gaps to get pressure in his face.
Special teams are bound to be important, and it could very well come down to one big play in that aspect that decides the outcome. Overall, I think Arrowhead will be at peak levels of energy/noise tonight and that’s no good for any team coming into KC on a short week.
Chiefs 30
Chargers 20

To think other teams in the leuage have the baility to replicate the Ravens game plan is like saying Derrick Carr could replicate Mahomes numbers if they just ran the same plays.

From the Chargers beat writer on The Athletic -
Chiefs 30, Chargers 20. The Chargers have a tough task. Not only do they have to travel on a short week, but they must beat Mahomes, the leading MVP candidate, in Arrowhead Stadium, which no opponent has accomplished yet. The Chiefs understand how important this game is, and I think they’ll continue the longstanding trend of being the home team that wins on Thursday night.

There are some quarterbacks who have the clutch gene and some who don't, and it's not even particularly correlated with greatness.
Joe Montana had it, Patrick Mahomes II has it, and even a mediocre quarterback like Eli Manning had it.
Phillip Rivers has the anti-clutch gene. He falls more into the line of quarterbacks like Peyton Manning who perform more poorly in big moments.

I think Arrowhead noise, travel and the cold weather are the difference...this is not a game where Rivers shines.

No doubt.... He won in Pittsburgh when actually he would have had an epic red zone interception which would have buried them but a fellow Steeler knocked it out of his teammates hands and into the hands of a Charger...
This was the mistake he seems to make, he just got lucky in Pitt.

Carrington Harrison tweeted something about Charcandrick getting 8-12 touches according to his 'source', but I'm not sure I buy it. Unless they have zero confidence in either Williams being able to pass protect, West shouldn't even play.
But Reid showed us Sunday that he’s fine with giving Damien goal line carries and he is obviously going to be featured in the pass game. He ran well against the poor Raiders run defense and I don’t see LA being much better in that department at this point. I’m going to play him for sure unless a report comes out about it being a 3-man committee.

people don't pay attention to the chance percentages
70% doesn't mean there will be rain everywhere
and that 70% chance is for SOME precip...meaning just a few drops for 5 minutes could fulfill that

It means 70% of the people in the forecast area will receive rain. That’s per my NOAA buddy 30 years ago.

I've come to the conclusion that they're all talking out of their ass all the time.
It started in the off-season...."Chargers are SB contenders"
The NFL mouthpieces are sticking with the LA hype narrative no matter the circumstances.
They lost Jason Verrett..."contenders!"
They lost Hunter Henry..."contenders!"
They lost Mebane, Liuget, and Perryman..."contenders!"
They lost Gorden..."contenders!"
They lost Ekeler..."contenders!"
It doesn't matter...these puppets are going to continue pick them even if their entire team is on IR....and gloss over anything that contradicts their marching orders.
Steelers game...14 points off 2 blown calls, a fluke TD off a deflected INT (Rivers doing his best to choke)...and 3 chances for a winning FG. "Legit"
Looking like trash, at home, against the Bengals back-up QB, 4 days ago with play-off seeding in the balance....crickets from the blowhards. 1-9 against Reid..."the past is the past"
I even saw some ex-player pick Anthony Lynn over Reid in this game.

How do y'all feel about the running game with Spencer Ware out?
Do you see Damian handling most of work as runner and receiver out of backfield?
Was thinking Charcandrick would end up getting some or most of the receiver work tonight if active.
Picked up Damian for fantasy but thinking he will probably be a bust if he doesn't get the receiving workload.

Obviously we're losing experience. I don't think that will hurt as much in the actual running game but the protections are the concern. We run spread more than anyone else in the league and rely on the back more than most so hopefully he's prepared.
But as a runner? Not really concerned.

Agreed, I think the running will be ok overall.
My question is more of how you see the workload being split with Ware out.
Is it going to be Damian shouldering the whole load, or will there be a significant split with Charcandrick taking some of the passing game work.
I assume that even though West hasn't played this year and was just resigned, KC would be comfortable with his skillset as pass catching back and blocker.

Damian is absolutely worth a flex play, he'll get probly 60-70% at least
My guess is Darrel and Charc split the rest maybe 10 touches total between em, tops.
My hope is Darrel gets 6-8 touches fairly early to see what he can do with em. If he shows well it really opens up a lot more with 3-4 legit weapons moving forward, including Ware back healthy and West chipping in.
