He needs to play all 4 quarters against Seattle.

I heard he didn’t have any setbacks after practices and playing the first half against LA. Now it’s time to test his body for a full real game where the atmosphere is that of a top notch playoff game.

His specific skill set should have a huge impact against the style of offense Seattle plays.

But, if you can remember that upmost is short for uppermost and this word has to do with being up top, i.e., the highest or farthest up, you will be set. Utmost, on the other hand, has to do with things that are the most extreme, greatest urgency, or most important.

I am holding a candle for the Bob Sanders effect.

This is all speculation, but I don't sense that Berry is in constant nagging pain with his heels. He works it, and it's painful after, and he's scared to death that he's going to make a random misstep and everything just snaps, . . . like Carson Palmer or DJ with their ACLs. But he's not grimacing and suffering from each step as he travels a linear road to 'recovery.'

He's fragile and resultantly tentative. He's not hobbled and slowly recuperating.

When the Colts went on their playoff tear to the SB, their defense was EVERY BIT as shitty in the regular season, even late in the season, as we are right now. But come the playoffs, Sanders was 5x5 and all out of chewing gum. I don't have and haven't recently reviewed their stats, but it wouldn't surprise to to find they took 100+ yards and 10+ points off their playoff defense from the back half of their regular season.

The funny this is when you take out the BS Sorensen penalty, this defense should’ve only given up 3 pts in the 1st half.

Bob is aware. He knows what's coming:

"I think we'll have to monitor with long drives, 'Does he need a break?' I think everybody here has a real confidence in him being able to say 'I've got to back this down here,' and go like that. We haven't really talked about exactly 'Is he going to play 40 plays this week or is he going to play 50 plays?' I think play it by ear a little bit."

We're officially (and have been for a while I guess) where expecting a top paid player to play an entire game is dismissed as a bridge too far after two years of not playing. Let's hope this never repeats itself with any other player and doesn't spread like a cancer to other players in the locker room.
