I ask because I met Breeland Speaks parents at the last game in Arrowhead.

His dad was in a custom Breeland Speaks Chiefs jersey, sitting in the stands, so I had a guess they were probably relatives.

I went up and said hey — glad to see another Speaks fan here, I think he’s coming along and I bet he starts after the team figures out what they want to do with Ford and Houston.

His dad said “Thansk, man. He’s my baby.” I say no kidding. His dad is not a small man but he doesn’t look like he’d be the father of a 280 lbs behemoth.

Said his son was having a ton of fun and learning a lot this season. Stressed that his son was learning and he was just coming along.

It was pleasant and I though it was interesting. Anybody else have an exchange they’d like to share?

I met Chris Jones Mom and Dad in a hotel in ATL. They were very nice. Dad was a smaller thin guy. His Mom was a big momma, looked like she could kick some ass. Said Chris was her baby. Travel to all the games to see him thanks to his agent who was also there escorting them around. Nice enough to take a picture with us.

I met DoD's mother and grandmother at the opener against the Chargers. I had to explain to them who Tyreek Hill was and how he was amazing. Also said "hi" to Ron Parker's wife that game - she's pretty conspicuous wearing a #38 "Mrs. Ron Parker" jersey.

I sat next to Reggie Ragland's cousin at the Chargers game in KC. He was wearing a Ragland jersey and they look identical.

I saw the Scandrick family at the Rams game but avoided them because I knew he'd drop a game-winning pick on the last drive.

My best and worst story of this kind was before the opener in 2015 against the Texans. I was right by the bench, and before the game, I saw someone with a Winchester jersey. We had just signed him (James) as the long snapper so I was pretty sure this guy was family. Turns out it was both of his parents and I had a 45 minute conversation with his father who used to play at Oklahoma (like James) and was just beaming about his son finally playing in the NFL. He was so, so proud, and for the rest of the season and the next when I'd go to games, I always tried to find him again as it was just such a pleasure speaking with the guy. As you might remember, the following season in November his father was murdered at work. Just really sad.

I met LDT at the UFO bar the weekend of the Bengals game. I came in for the game with a bunch of guys I went to school with in Cincinnati and he was in there with his casted leg propped up on a table as he sat on a couch back by the dart boards. He was there with 2 guys from Quebec that he went to high school with. Unfortunately I have to report that he was kind of a cocksmith. My buddy didn’t know who he was and asked what he did to his leg. He replied “doing something you probably can’t do, playing football”.. I told the doc he might want to work on his bedside manner. He left shortly after that but his buddies stayed and played darts with us. They were cool at least.

I met Alex Smith at a Denny's in Blue Springs. I asked him to pass me the salt and he checked it down.

Maybe by year 5 he may have figured out Bob Sutton's shitty defensive schemes because it seems most can't yet.

Where they headed?

Let him know that he needs to hurry up and sign on as a coach.

KC... I’d be more intrigued, but he has family in KC that he’s probably visiting.

I think Von Miller pulled up next to me at an intersection a while back, but I was able to lock the doors and duck down behind the door for shielding.

I may have also seen him at a 7/11, but I'm not sure. He was wearing a mask.

I ate dinner next to Pat and his GF at Stockhill. He had the lobster. I did not see any ketchup, though.

Back in the day I saw Jose Lima at a gas station, I asked him if he was pitching that day - and he replied "Of course - It's Lima Time baby".

Unfortunate, but some people don't do as well with recognition as others. Living in Los Angeles, I see celebrities from time to time, I simply leave them alone. My wife has celebrity clients, been to their homes etc, I treat them with respect of course, but as "normally" as possible, and it's reciprocated for the most part. Basically, respect their privacy.

We saw Greinke at Kelly's one time. It was before anybody gave a shit about the Royals. We were the only people who even knew who he was. He was just standing there looking bored with two hot chicks.

Arrowhead Guys

Was walking up to get in line at Arrowhead for the Cardinals game wearing my Fisher jersey (yes, I have a Fisher jersey) and some fairly attractive girls approach me asking if I was "actually" wearing a Fisher jersey. My initial thought was "uh...you blind?" but when I noticed they were both wearing 72 jerseys figured one of them was his gf/wife. So I asked, it was his fiance, told her why I was a Fisher fan, got a picture with her, told her to keep making him PB&J sandwiches and she may be one of the first people who have ever gotten that reference.

Met LDT's GF and whole family from Canada a couple years ago in the parking lot. Figured a whole group of people wearing LDT jerseys had to be fam. Super nice people. Kinda disappointing to hear he's a prick.

I get it and I knew who he was but no one just approached him. He was right by us when we were playing darts and one of his buddies was talking to us when my other friend asked him the simple question. I think it was right after he had been injured so he might have been pissy about that. Either way he came off a tad douchetastic.

Met Patrick Mahomes godfather (sort of) and I asked for a quick picture. He asked “who am I?” I said your Pats dad, he said “nope” and walked away. He probably gets that a lot, so I shrugged it off. My wife on the other hand doesn’t like him one bit ROFL

She had the camera ready and everything, she was like WTF?!?!
