View Full Version : Football Meanwhile on the Saints Message Board...

Some of their fans are calling for a Chiefs-Saints game to be organized as a protest to the Super Bowl. LMAO

A sampling of some of their responses:

https://saintsreport.com/threads/saints-vs-chiefs.402712/

Could the 2 teams agree to play a game against each other? Would NFL allow that? I would be willing to bet that it would have more viewers than the RiggedBowl!

Love the idea, but the logistics and planning for such an event would be mind-boggling. Would take at least a year to coordinate such a matchup.

What players on both teams could do though is - agree to play a "private" flag-football game at a picnic on the day of the Superbowl. If nothing else it would make Goddell look like the buffon he is.

Boy, I tell you what. That sounds like a plot for a great feel good movie, and lord knows protesting the Superbowl by scheduling this game to coincide with the Goodellbowl would be redemptive. We could only wish. I know that it could be lucrative from an advertising standpoint, but logistically difficult to pull off in time.

Honestly believe if they could set it up people would watch it over the super bowl.

I actually made a post like this to a Saints friend on Facebook. I think it would be a great idea so we could determine the best team in the NFL.

Would be cool. Play it in south Florida on super bowl Sunday.

Rating would be off the charts.

Instead of the Pro Bowl, have the Bronze Bowl next week. Winner can stand on a giant podium with the other 2 at the SB.

Nah we would have a bigger Lombardi made to outdo the shitty version that's coming up.

We could garner some major hype with "everyone thinks we suck cuz we're in flyover country and not in a major media center"

I don't know the temperament of the Saints owner, but I know Clark would never do shit to piss off his NFL bosses with any sign of defiance instead of total subservience. They love Clark, like his dad he's a push-over and is happy with his share of the loot, so this is a no-go idea.

I'm with you, but I think we all know Clark's never going to cross his bosses (the rest of the owners). The players would have to do it without his consent.

The NFL used to do this in the 1960's. It was called the Playoff Bowl.

We could get half a dozen blind guys who would do a better job.

This reminds me of the last time we lost the championship game. The entire world wanted Montana v. Young. Instead, we got Buffalo and Dallas. :Lin:

The customers of the New Orleans department of a massive and wildly profitable corporation propose that it’s a good idea that the New Orleans department should conspire with the Kansas City department of the same massive and wildly profitable corporation for the sole purpose of embarrassing the parent corporation.

Good plan.

Well I'm all for it, but I know Clark's a pussy and won't send a fuck-you message to the league, so it won't happen...

Maybe just have Tony Romo narrate a simulated game... it would probably be an accurate projection of a real match-up.

This thread settles it, then.

Time to set this shit up in Madden and rake in youtube views.

Just to make it really fun I'll play as the Saints so CPU Mahomes fucks shit up.

Then I logged on here and found this thread..........

The good news for WhoDat Nation is that their owner might not take a bend-over-and-spread-the-cheeks approach to the overall situation. Perhaps the "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" angle will apply to their situation instead of the "thanks may I have another" approach the Hunts seem to take.

Even if she goes full-on NOLA and demands being gifted a small island in the tropics, I'll bet "seeking rules changes" might be the title on the book that has a dagger hidden in its pages..

That does clear it up, but just that small piece. It's pretty clear both of those refs should become the 2nd and 3rd refs fired in the SB era for missing a call that can't be missed.

But hey, fuck the Saints!
