I went 14-2

As it sits, I can see us losing on the road to Pats and maybe Chicago...but that's being generous. I don't like to predict and exact number, but I'll say division champs again and number 2 seed at least, hopefully number 1 again.

14-2

17-2 by the end of the post season.

A lot will depend on improvement on the defense. We lost 2 shootouts because of the dearly departed Sutton and probably should have beat Seattle and won the 2nd Charger game. That's 16-0. Now I don't really expect us to go 16-0, but 14-2 is certainly possible.

Why Not?

Does the Super Bowl get cancelled in your scenario?

Realistically 12-4. 14-2 if our Defense improves a lot.

It takes time to learn a new D and I doubt we get as lucky with injuries to our key pieces this year...

12-4 but it's WAYYYYY too early for any kind of predictions. Plus we'll have 18 more of these threads before a down is played in August

Seriously, if a few more balls bounced our way this season, we could have been 17-1 and heading to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs definitely struggled to win close games against good teams this year. That's usually something that comes in the next year. Hopefully.

Guessing we open on Thursday night at NE.

I don’t for 2 reasons

1. It’s going to be super hyped matchup anyway, they can save it for later. Cowboys Patriots would have hype as well as novelty

2. We opened there just two years ago, I expect more variety. Also, KC hasn’t opened the season at home since 2016

I expect Cowboys at Pats on opening night

The balls sure bounces our way in the AFCCG yet we still lost.

Are you fucking kidding? Literally every bang bang close play went the Pats way.

The Chiefs probably deserved to lose because of the D shitting itself and the no show o in the first half, but fuck me. Hogan makes a 1 handed "catch" (lol), our OLB lines up offsides on a play that would have ended the game, we touched brady's shoulder too hard.

It goes on and on

It goes on and on

1. Edelman tipped ball interception
2. Mahomes easily recovers own fumble
3. Tremon Smith fumble bounced into Harris hands
4. JC Jackson drops easy Mahomes interception
5. D Will left wide open down sideline

Yet we still lost

Need better line play for 2019

Wonder if the NFL would schedule the Chiefs to play on the Thursday Night Opener again in Foxboro if the Faketriots win the Super Bowl.

Mahomes improvement plus small improvement from the defense makes this a 15-1 or better team IMO

With injuries though you never know. Aside from the Berry fiasco, overall we were very lucky with injuries. So I could see us having a bit worse luck next season in that aspect.

We need to get better

1. the balls did NOT bounce our way. that's silly.

2. we need to get better.

3. we already got better when we got rid of sutton.

4. we need to get even better than that.

5. Mahomes is gonna throw for 40+ TD and 5,000 yards.

Looking at the schedule...I'll guess 12-4

Schedule always looks tough this time of year. We were crying last year about the upcoming schedule. Teams fold and end up being blowouts. Look at the Jaguars for exhibit A. With MVPat and a new more aggressive Defensive scheme and 3 top 60 players drafted and added to the d, I have faith we will have another #1 afc finish.

Rawlsian
01-30-2019, 11:37 AM
Tough schedule and injuries might catch up to us. 12-4

Fishpicker
01-30-2019, 11:45 AM
11-5. There will be a slight drop off in scoring
But I expect Pat will become the most prolific passer in history, 6k yards passing.

Way early but I’d say anywhere from 12-4 to 14-2.

KC is likely to have the full 6 prime time games, and many of their tougher opponents are coming to Arrowhead. So there’s a good chance we have 3-4 prime time home games.

12-4 seems like a good safe bet. I think Vegas has us at 11?

Way too early to go on record with such a thing, but KC apparently overperformed their pythagorean expectation by one win this year. That suggests they'll win fewer games next year.

So there is that.

I’d say that came from the defense being as asstastic as it was and hopefully won’t be again?

But we won’t have the same team in 2019

I bet the reason is because we basically allowed 27 points per game. You shouldn’t go 12-4 with that bad a defense. But we have Mahomes

So basically, “theorems” couldn’t account for Mahomes. Makes sense

I’ve correctly called the regular season record two out of the last three years. This past season with Mahomes at the helm I thought 9-7 or 10-6 at best. I was wrong.

I won’t take my shot until after the schedule release and draft....

Home

Denver Broncos (6-10)
Los Angeles Chargers (12-4)
Oakland Raiders (4-12)
Baltimore Ravens (10-6)
Green Bay Packers (6-9-1)
Houston Texans (11-5)
Indianapolis Colts (10-6)
Minnesota Vikings (8-7-1)

Road

Denver Broncos (6-10)
Los Angeles Chargers (12-4)
Oakland Raiders (4-12)
Chicago Bears (12-4)
Detroit Lions (6-10)
Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11)
New England Patriots (11-5)
Tennessee Titans (9-7)

I think we sweep the division. I'm still not afraid of the Chargers, no matter how "good" they're supposed to be next year. I've heard the same song and dance. They'll be better next year? So will we. And the Donks and Raiders are both teams of feckless retards with shitty coaches. So that's 6-0

Against our NFC foes, I think the Packers and Vikings will both be much improved next season, but we get both of them at home. That puts us over the top. We can take the Lions and their Patriot Way bullshit. And the Bears are simply not THAT good, at least not yet. Maybe Nagy can fool shitty teams with his trickery, but I think he's still not far enough removed from Andy Reid to be able to outsmart him. I'll go bold and say 4-0 against the NFC.

AFC South: We're beating the Jaguars because they're the Jaguars. And Deshaun Watson is incapable of winning tough games on the road because he's a whiney loser. Colts and Titans are more interesting. A big factor is when those two teams show up in our schedule. We can and probably should beat the Colts at home, but the Titans on the road has the strong possibility of being our big disappointment game that most teams get dealt. I'll say 1-1 in those games, meaning we go 3-1 against the AFC South.

That leaves the Ravens at home and the Patriots on the road. Take your pick, but I think we're 1-1 in those games.

Final prediction: 14-2
