To avoid having to play NE in the Thursday Night NFL opener.

If NE wins, NBC will want the KC-NE match-up week 1. I know we won that game 2 years ago but I don't want to "press our luck."

Plus, the Royals are away on 9/8 and home on 9/15 so if KC played at NE week 1, the Chiefs would probably be starting with 2 straight road games. I know it worked out last year but again I do not want to "press our luck" (The Chiefs could host a Thursday or Monday night game week 2.)

I have thought about that too. F the pats.
But I think NE will be allowed to win since they lost last year.

Bring on the fucking Pats on TNF at their fucking house we will take them to the woodshed

I’m with you on this. However, no way the NFL wants the Rams winning. They’ll have to hear about the blown call in NFCCG for another seven months...

If the Patriots spank ‘em, the pundits will just say the Rams shouldn’t have been there anyway and it will all just fade away.

Why Not?
02-03-2019, 10:02 AM
Nah. Gonna have to beat the Pats somewhere along the line. Might as well take our shot week 1.

Since 2008, we've played the Pats (not counting post season) 5 times. Four of those times were at NE.

NBC will save Chiefs-Pats for later in the year. The game sells itself, they don’t need to place it week 1 for added hype.

I think it’ll be Pats-Cowboys. Patriots unveil 6th trophy, bringing them ahead of the Cowboys 5. Blah blah blah

All the more reason to beat their ass in their house.

I would love to be in that meeting of Network execs when they fight over which games to have in their time slots.

guessing Chiefs will have a lot of primetime and 3pm games this year. I prefer 3pm game.

I would say the opposite. Getting New England early would benefit the Chiefs. New England usually starts slow. I would rather get the leg up early on them to get the 1 seed again.

I don’t want to win the SB though. Ugh fuck New England.

If we had one Thursday night game i'd rather it be the first Thursday to kick off the season with the Patriots than a fucking late season four days after a physical game on Sunday.

One thing i don't understand is why not let the teams coming off a bye week play on Thursday night ?

I will be shocked if the rams don’t win

Also I bet the NFL lies about the viewer numbers

We’ll still have a regular TNF game

Remember in 2017 we played at New England on opening Thursday and at Oakland on the Thursday 31-30 loss?

If the Pats win our 2nd round pick goes from 64 to 63 and that could be the difference between drafting Kendrick Lewis and Lawrence Taylor

I think playing them early is better than playing them late. I'm just glad it's the last year we should have to go to NE for a while in the regular season. That system is messed up.

The only reason I have to root for the Rams is because there are three OS Beavers on the Rams and none on the Patriots. Well, that and also fuck the Patriots.

Makes sense.

I don’t mind starting on the road. Our Reid teams have always started hot, I like the home games late in the year when it’s crunch time.

And there is no better time to play NE than in the first month of the season when they are at their most vulnerable.

Win that game and set up another run at the #1 seed.

Hate both these teams.

Cheating fucks on one side with their wolf in sheep’s clothing owner that plays the easiest of schedules year after year with a qb not allowed to be touched, and then on the other side you have Talib, Suh, Peters led by an overrated “young” coach who had a roster and deep pockets of an owner gifted to him that has a Taj Mahal moneymaker stadium in the works in a city the league is forcing to have football relevancy in.

And people wonder why there isn’t a lot of hype.

Overrated coach? McVay has turned Goff into the first overall pick he was suppose to be

This.

And with zero film on our new defense, I really think a lot of teams are going to be at a disadvantage early next season.

There is no team that we should fear. Take them as we get them, win, and get on to the next.

Last season, with a shit defense we came within 3 points of beating both LAR and NE on the road. If our defense is even average, we should do much better.

Patriots are generally slow starters so a week one matchup would not bother me one bit.
