Fant and Hock are going to be superb pro tight ends, Kelce isn’t getting any younger and Hock would fill a huge hole.

He blocks extremely well, so he would help Mahomes and the running game. He’s dependable as a receiver. He runs good routes for his size. He’s very smart against zone, settling in to soft spots with ease. He fights through arm tackles and is tough to bring down.

He’s a true complete right end.

Isn’t this draft viewed as deeper and heavier on defensive talent than offensive talent?

Just based on that, I wouldn’t expect Hockenson to drop to KC’s pick.

If he did, I think it has to be considered. Yes, the Chiefs need to improve on defense, but they also need to just get the best young controllable talent they can that improves them at a position. IMO. If that happens to be a TE or WR or LB or CB in the 1st, that’s fine.
