IMO Self is not getting the 5-star recruits (nor will he in the foreseeable future) because the recruit's parents are starting to refuse to co-sign the LOI if it is from KU. (If the parent will not co-sign a school's LOI, the recruit CANNOT attend that school.)

KU is going to have to be in the clear officially before the recruiting can recover. Why would any high level recruit potentially waste a year or two on a program that may be ineligible for the postseason?

I wouldn’t blame Self at all for giving the NCAA the finger and bolting. If he does, you can be certain that Kansas is about to get hammered bad.

Just since 2011, he’s had eligibility issues with Josh Selby, Cheick Diallo, Cliff Alexander, Billy Preston, Silvio De Sousa, Ben McLemore, and Jamari Traylor.

Duke is private, so they don't have to honor FOIA requests like the state schools do. That's why once this investigation began his recruiting classes skyrocketed. The other schools had to scale back while he could step on the gas.
