Interesting read.

Probably (at least partially) responsible for why the Boston’s and Browns’ of the NFL don’t get signed early.

It appears to be a pretty well-sourced piece.

I saw someone's list of top remaining FA's that had Kelvin Benjamin at #10.

If that's #10 the cupboard is already pretty bare.

So the comp pick system turns out to mostly help the "wealthy" stay wealthy, and has largely benefitted teams like the Patriots and Ravens to the detriment of the "has-nots". I love that it helps my guys, but honestly, it's mostly a reward program for those who can best work the system.

As it's not really fulfilling its intended goal, I'd be fine with getting rid of it. Or not -- it helps my guys so keep it for all I care. But as an average/objective NFL fan, I would not support it.

Deadspin is right until they forget the players are getting a cut of the revenue too. Greedy capitalist owners and greedy players.

And after reading this article, I thought it was excellent in explaining how teams game the comp picks.
