So I suppose that it is a home game for LA?

Shaid

I'm a fan of it being an LA home game and not us losing one. The Chargers don't really have home games though, we're the home team when we go there anyways lately.

Ugh, that's actually another important game that we have to go thru that stupid shit for.

Fucking NFL and their money hungry shit.

I hope it gets cancelled like the Raiders one from last year because a soccer game or some such crap ruined the field.

At least it's one of our Away games and not a Home game played in London like a few years ago.

I thought it was the Rams game that was moved. LA honored all the firefighters at their "home game". I don't believe the NFL cancelled any games

It was the Rams game.

And that pretty much assures the bye the week after so another thanksgiving bye?

I have zero problem this. Coming someone who despises London games.

We don't lose a home game. We stay in a reasonable time zone. And an LA team in Mexico makes a lot of sense, especially one with shitty home crowds like the chargers.

Just take care of the fucking field this time.

It's a division game between two of the best teams in the AFC, on a neutral field in a different country, at altitude.

Yeah, "zero problem". It's fucking stupid.

Let me guess: We go on the road the following week at Pats/at Houston/at Indy/at Baltimore.

It's a game that literally decided the #1 seed last year. But yeah, lets go to …..(checks notes)…..another country to play it.

I'm guessing it'll be a week 12 bye for both after. Which isn't a bad thing IMO.

I don't like the idea of playing ANY game outside the country, but other than dealing with the altitude, which in this case won't give either team an unfair advantage, the distance from Kansas City to Mexico City is pretty much the same as the distance from Kansas City to Los Angeles. In fact, if you look at the three cities on a map, the locations almost form a perfect triangle. Shouldn't be any different than any other road game.

I do feel bad for the 15 Chargers season ticketholders, though.

I don't care as long as we get some home prime time games. It seemed every prime time game last year was on the road.

I may take a road trip to see this game. CDMX is a great city...always a good time there!

Well, it's better than an overseas trip. It's not like the prep or travel time is going to be that much different than traveling to LA.

Indeed. I'm also ok with it taking a home game away from the Chargers instead of us. As long as the field is presentable/safe then whatever

Chargers as part of their agreement to move to Los Angeles, have to give up a home game each year for an international game.

That was my thinking. A bit more and it is international so that adds an element as well but could be worse.

The chargers will deal with the same elements. They are traveling to play a neutral site game instead of staying for a home game playing in an environment they're familiar with. No, it doesn't bother me. If we're going to get thrown into an international game this is one I'm perfectly fine with.

Just take care of the fucking field this time.

Assuming Shakira doesn’t f up the field again.

I'd hope that both sides learned a lesson. I'd bet nfl will Jr all over the Mexican stadium officials to make sure not to fuck this up. And undoubtedly Mexico knows they fucked up based on how much money they lost. Mexico makes a shitload of money off of soccer so its still baffling that they fucked this up.

My only concern is that they groom this as a soccer field, not a field suitable for football. But id think the NFL has experience with that too since wembley was more than suitable for football.

That was the Rams game, and it got moved because of the fires in LA, period.

They can't tell me that no one in Mexico City knows how to lay sod. That's where 90% of the sod-laying US population comes from.
