Interesting back and forth year between this boring baseball reporter and the hosts. They point tothe overall appeal, attendance and ratings. I'm not much of a baseball guy and this guest is exactly why.

The NFL Draft gets 200,000+ people to show up in the rain to watch Goodell announce draft picks.

Meanwhile baseball can barely get people to show up to their actual games.

If football is dying, then baseball is in hospice care.

I like baseball, but I'm only going to watch a game if I care about one of the teams that's playing.

I can watch anybody play football.

No fucking kidding. Nationally televised games have swaths of empty seats.

I love baseball but I'm not watching on TV. I love football but I'm never going back to Arrowhead.

It isn't for lack of trying. Any other sport that shit on its fans as much as the NFL does would be dead in a matter of years.

And there you have it. Yes, they're making the game softer and messing with the overtime rules (for reasons that you and I might disagree on). Still, most of us only watch baseball games the team we root for play in. In contrast, most of us will watch at least part of any NFL game.

Saturday Night Live or South Park should make a parody where NFL referees simply take over the game and the players stand on the sidelines dumbfound and amused. It's kind of the WWNFL at this point.

At some point the safety thing will become a fatal issue for the NFL, but by that point we'll just replace the players with robots.

I'm not sure, but yes.

If they replace the players with robots, will injuries be a thing? Or will we have six robo-Watkins ready to go if needed?
