Excellent. The best part about this is, he and Jamal left, proved to themselves and the world that they were absolutely done, and came back home. No hard feelings. Welcome home Derrick.

Perhaps some kind of internship or even a coaching job is in order now...guess that's up to Spags though.

As much as I hate the Alex Niner fan transplants, I do sort of understand like 10% of their obsession with the guy. Derrick Johnson is kind of our version of that.

Guy was a 2005 1st round draft pick. Made some strides in his rookie year. Then for whatever reason he stagnated for many years. Haley even benched him for most of his first year, and it wasn't really until that Jamaal Charles 2009 game when he really came into his own as an incredible dominant player.

Without that meteoric rise, we probably view him as a big draft bust in our history. Instead, he's a Chiefs team legend. And that just kind of makes me like him just a bit more.

Now, once he left KC, I didn't really follow his career or care about what he did. I didn't stalk him or follow him or worry about his money or his family or what mean things people on the internet might be saying about him. I'm not a creepy turd like those fans. But I vaguely understand why they really appreciated Alex. The same goes for DJ on the Chiefs, I think.

Why bring them in except to get some inside information about the Chiefs. Which I'm sure they gave up willingly because they felt they were treated unfairly. When its now obvious to everyone including them, their bodies just didn't have the capability to play the game anymore.

My 2nd favorite MLB ever (after MR. Lanier) and on my top 5 Chiefs of all time list. He was smart, played hard, and would hit you like a tank. His sticks were just a thing of beauty. He seemed to be a class act guy off the field as well. I, too, hope that Andy and Spags find a place for him on the coaching staff for him if he wants to. Welcome back, #56.

The way I look at it now is both DJ and Jamaal went to division rivals and made their teams worse.

So technically they were loyal to the end.

Contact Lanier or Mr. Contact as I called him as a kid when I met him and DJ from my very limited personal meetings both still left me with positive impressions at very different stages of my life.

I was introduced to DJ when I was back in KC by a buddy and then the Chiefs DC. Many here don’t care for Gun but he is my pal, anyway I was seeing Gun at his office about this time of year in 2005. He walked me out and we ran into this kid that Gun introduced as his “latest Badass”.

DJ was embarrassed by the intro and very polite. I watched him for years always remembering how the person was not limited by the player

I’m intellectually capable of knowing that Hill did some really bad things and there is an ongoing investigation while simultaneously able to honor Chiefs of the past have chosen to retire that way.

Wtf does one thing have to do with the other? I mean seriously was anybody saying I hate the Chiefs because of Tyreek Hill but now that they’re signing players who played most of their careers to a one-day contract and allow them to retire a Chief I’ve changed my mind and I love the Chiefs again?

Still cant believe they ruled it forward progress when he lit up Mariota. One of my fav DJ hits. Also when he ran over Jalen Richard was a good one.

Tony would rather retire a Falcon, judging from his recent comments. I loved him as a Chief but he acts like an ass now.

My favorite hits from DJ (both against Oakland):

Jalen Richard on the screen pass
Marshawn Lynch

I loved the hit on Mariota, but that one still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Seriously, I don't actually care what he wants to retire as. His comments were completely douchey, and his backpedaling might have been even worse.

Uhh... yeah. Football moves on, Paul. You fucking dingbat.

What the hell is Chiefs PR supposed to do? I suppose you're upset that their twitter feed is currently celebrating and promoting their draft selections from last week! Uhp, sorry, you can't do that, Chiefs! Tyreek Hill!

If Tyreek Hill is still on the team and suspended during mini-camp are they not allowed to talk about that? Hmmm? Mecole Hardman looks impressive at rookie minicamp? Khalen Saunders looked great during a drill? Nope! Tyreek Hill!
