I think I need an L shaped kitchen. I have an island out there already.

It's called a grill

Picture of the space or helping you is impossible.The space is a mess because we were putting together the kamado grill that will replace the Weber, which is going away. The Pot Barrel will not be part of the kitchen. There's a window on the immediate right. So I'm thinking an L-shape with the long end out to the column. I'm on the road....that's our set-up. All stainless U-shaped with a smallish fridge/wine cabinet, sink, fake marble counters, good cabinet space; Napoleon grill and side burners with hood, kegerator with one-tap; we added a flat-top grill, small convection oven, warming drawers--and of course muted Chief/Royals/Jayhawk decor. We skipped the dishwasher, cedar ceiling, and fake fruit and flowers.

Son is in construction, he cut me a deal. I convinced the wife that with four kids, fam in town, and our liking-to-entertain that it was more practical in our part of the country than the pool she wanted. We can also enclose it for the winter.

That sounds doable, but would be more outdoorsy with the serious smoking/BBQ set-up.... than a three season design w/patio access. Like lewdog said, a lot depends on the space....

Nice, Bwana. We'd have preferred something like that...more stone, outdoors, rustic. It just isn't practical with Dakota winters...
