To see which city has the happiest citizens, WalletHub crunched some numbers.

The personal finance site looked at a number of different metrics, with categories including community and environment, income and employment, and emotional and physical well-being, to determine the happiest cities in the U.S.

Pulling from published psychology research, WalletHub found that Plano, Texas is the happiest of the 182 cities that were analyzed. It's followed by Irvine, California; Madison, Wisconsin; Fremont, California; and Huntington Beach, California. Cities in sunny California show up frequently on the list, with 14 cities from the state making the top 50.

Arizona is miserable.

People in KC should stay and enjoy the humidity and 100 degree heat indexes when it's 87 in the summer, and the zero degree wind chills when it's 20 degrees in the winter.... and not seeing the sun peek out of the clouds for days at a time is healthy for you or something. Those 3 weeks of nice weather in October are amazing.

Arizona sucks. Stay out.

Thanks.

Nice thing about Pete's is it is Chiefs wall to wall. Chiefs fans would have to push a lot of people out to get back into Thirsty Merchant. It's a good place to watch a game, though.

Is the weather dog shit in the summer? Like does it get scorching hot? I've always preferred a place that actually feels like it's experiencing 4 seasons. I feel like if I lived in a place that was primarily warm year round it would get me missing winter eventually.

July/August = Monsoon Season tho. Favorite part of the year. Though Ahwatukee always gets dicked on that. I’ve been known to drive to a Monsoon.

That shits awesome. I BBQ’d through one once. I simply cranked up the flame. To, like, 11.

We get heat waves in LA for sure. Triple digits for a week or so at a time. Low humidity, though. Not terrible. Winters usually bottom out in the high 30s low 40s. That's our rainy season. Seasons for sure but not nearly the extreme you get elsewhere.

Also a pretty quick drive from snow in the winter if you get a hankerin.

Really? I visited there last year and didn’t care for the city at all. Did enjoy Alcatraz and going up into Sonoma and of course Oracle Park is gorgeous. But the inner city itself is so crowded and the streets filled with the homeless. Maybe I’m just used to the Midwest but I couldn’t see how anyone would be happy in SF.
