Funny story I jst heard recently from Lisa Kudrow about how quick a wit Matthew Perry was.

There was a script where Phoebe realized she was late for an appointment and took off from the group in the apartment suddenly. I guess they didn't really think the narrative through, whether she would check a wristwatch or just suddenly remember or what.

In the scene she darted her eyes to the cupboard and 'OH!!' suddenly revealed she was running late and had to go. Not missing a beat, and seated with his back the cupboard, Matthew ad-libbed. . . 'did you, . . . just check the time on a cookie jar?'

Turns out that's exactly what she did. There was a cookie jar shaped like a clock in the cupboard.
