The thread about Phobia and other long lost posters made me wonder just how long I've been hanging out around here. I then realized that Chiefs Planet will be 20 years old next year! 20 years is a long time to have lasted on the interwebz, so I think we should celebrate. Any ideas on how we can do that?

I say have a day where only those who signed up in 2000 get to post.

IDEAS:
Only those who joined in 2000 get to post for a day
Reunion Bash
Fundraiser for upgrades to server
Epic CP tailgate

I wonder what AC would consider the official birthdate of the Planet to be. His account join date is 8/17/2000, but the post with ID number 1 (https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?p=1) is from 9/1/2000 and seems to just start out of nowhere rather than seeming like a "Hello world" kind of post, so I wondering if some posts were lost.

They were up and running on August 17. My join date was August 20, and I waited a couple of days to see if the rift between the Star BB and the rebels would blow over. When it became clear that it wouldn't, I joined here.

August 21, 2000 for me... I remember the final days on the Star board and thinking "I don't really want to join another forum". But, I did and you guys have been rejoicing in that decision for nearly 19 years.

I started posting on the Star board after I started my company. I was working from home and it got very quiet some days, so I needed some social interaction. The company celebrates its 20-year anniversary next month. After a year or two on the Star board, I migrated to CP.

Cmon, man...Ken was so dumb, that when he registered on kansascity.com, got his first name and last name backward. To this day, I dont think he knew how to how to read an entire thread. He would read the previous post and respond to that while there would be pages of responses and he either ignored them or didnt know how to go back to the last post he read on the forum.

Of course, he sealed his fate when he said Priest Holmes was no better than Donnell Bennett. Idiot...with a capital 'I'...

Started on the Star board, back in the 1995 season, if not sooner. I remember reading posts on that board from that comeback against the Giants on September 10, 1995, when the Chiefs scored 17 unanswered 4th-quarter points to win 20-17. Got my M.S. in statistics earlier that year and was very active on that board and then on PigSkinPark and Chiefsplanet during the exodus, while working on my Ph.D. I joined Chiefsplanet on 9/11/2000. Moved to California the following year, finished the PhD in 2006, and have not been as active a poster since becoming a professor in 2007, but still read a lot of posts here.

LOL! Maybe so...but the playoff thing seemed like his weakest stuff to me.

Proctor, now, when I called him out after Marty's last playoff failure in San Diego, got me a personal note from Johnny threatening me to a fight at my choice of venue. I hope that guy's ok, but mentally, he was screwed up 20 years ago, I cannot imagine what he's like today.

2001- first 37 Forever fundraiser on Red Friday at Adam's Mark (when it was a decent place).
2002-2nd year at a schmancy golf course that cut off our alcohol at 11:00 (that didn't go over well).
2003-we were at Arrowhead, was really a good time, Kimball Anders made an appearance that year.
2004-first bash at NZoners casa, probably the biggest turnout of all the fundraisers/bashes.
My memory is a bit foggy after that, thanks to NZoner for hosting those bashes all those years, fun was had, hats were burnt and friendships were forged.

Actually, no. The refrigerator is the only surviving original appliance in the house. On the second stove, the second microwave, the second dishwasher, the second washer and dryer, and the third hot water heater. Believe it or not. :D

Moved to my house in 98.

Still have the original appliances that came with the house: fridge, micro, washer, dryer. Same garage door opener. New remote tho. Water heater replaced twice, the one last year because I had other stuff done and didn't want it to go out. The other will die an expected death at the wrong time soon.

When was Joe's first bash?

2004, I think.
