DenverChief

So I have had some time off this week to recover from some Illness/Injury. Needless to say I ran out of "Good" movies to watch in the first couple of days. I just watched Toxic Avenger for the first time and wow LMAO.

Looking for suggestions on some other B rated movies that are must watches, hopefully available on Amazon.

Please help, TIA

Much love Denverchief

It's not a B movie. It had a big release, big budget, and a huge studio behind it. It just bombed.

It's just a terrible movie... but Leah Thompson circa 1980's was stunning, no matter how stupidly she dressed. Haha, Tim Robbins was in that ****ing movie! Waka Waka Waka Waka Waka! XD So bad.

B movie

Motion Picture
A B movie or B film is a low-budget commercial motion picture that is not an arthouse film. In its original usage, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, the term more precisely identified films intended for distribution as the less-publicized bottom half of a double feature. Although the U.S. production of movies intended as second features largely ceased by the end of the 1950s, the term B movie continues to be used in its broader sense to this day. In its post-Golden Age usage, there is ambiguity on both sides of the definition: on the one hand, the primary interest of many inexpensive exploitation films is prurient; on the other, many B movies display a high degree of craft and aesthetic ingenuity.

I don't know why I can't embed on my phone, but this is actually a fucking awesome movie. It's called "Aaah Zombies!"

Quick summary- Kids get turned into zombies but here's the twist.. The kids think everyone else are zombies and they're normal. You see a movie through the eyes of the undead. It switches between black and white and color. It's hard to describe without giving it away, but if this was done with Hollywood budget it would be the best zombie movie ever. Here's a link to the imbd write-up

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1027762/reviews

Edit- Sorry if Q. Didn't scroll through thread but doubted many, if any, had seen it.

Donnie Darko I searched and didn't see this title listed. A 2001 release with a budget of $4.5 million with an unknown Jake Gyllenhaal as the star. It had no promotion but I caught it on HBO a year or so later. Between reruns on TV and my DVD, I've seen it 30 times. It's just something about it that I like and it's a cult hit.

https://thumbor.forbes.com/thumbor/1280x868/https%3A%2F%2Fblogs-images.forbes.com%2Fmarkbeech%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F12%2Fdonniedarko1x-1200x763.jpeg

Napolean Dynamite Almost the same could be said for this movie, but the budget was only $400,000 and the actors were even less known than Gyllenhaal. Another movie that didn't do well at the theaters but caught on later with HBO and the like. I had the "Vote for Pedro" t-shirts at one time, seen it at least 30 times.

Body Double, 1984 directed by Brian DePalma, same guy that did Carlito's Way, Untouchables, Scarface, Dressed to Kill to name a few. However he also did Bonfire of the Vanities and a few other duds, so it's hard to predict his films. Without a doubt, my favorite is Body Double from 1984 directed by Brian DePalma. It's maybe a B+ movie since Depalma had just done Scarface the year before. However he also did Dressed to Kill and Blow Out, and this film is along the same lines as those two.

It starred two really unknown actors, but I'm sure most of you have seen Gregg Henry somewhere along the way, and Craig Wasson who I think went into mostly doing plays and at the time, an unknown Melanie Griffith. How many films have a music video right in the middle, and a song that was a big hit, it was Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Here's a clip from the movie that shows the video
