Rob can't move around because he wears about 50 pounds of leather and metal. Are you gonna break the Law?

They really broke new ground with that album, very highly regarded by rock critics back in the day

Have fun 6, hope they put on a killer show.

Saw the Priest live a couple times back in the day. First time was in 1984 in Cedar Rapids, IA at the Five Seasons Center. They were in their prime then, as good a live metal show as has ever been on stage. Big gay Rob (hadn’t figured that out yet though) could wail, he was a master showman. Loved their music back then. Still have some of it on my Spotify for the gym.

I saw them back in the day probably 4 or 5 different times. Love the Priest! Saw them in Biloxi, MS last time Glen Tipton was with them. Saw them one more time there without Glen and I am finished going to see them. Just not the same without Glen.

How we didn’t know is anyone’s guess. I mean, all the leather and studs should’ve given it away.

I have two gay friends who actually got to know him. One was in a gay bar before a Priest show, telling the bartender how excited he was to be seeing Halford, and the bartender said, “Well, he’s right over there,” LOL. They struck up a conversation and a friendship and he would invite them to shows. My friends are the same age as me and, like me, had seen him as teens from an arena seat in the 80s, and they said it was weird to have him leaving messages on their phone voicemail, LOL.

Not Priest per se, but anytime Halford teams up with Bruce Dickinson it's worth sharing

Don't go "breakn the law - breakn the law" while you're there. The Wife and I saw Robin Trower there some 8-9 years ago. Good venue.

Repost

I was promoting concerts in 1982. Judas Priest and Ozzie were the big names I did. Backstage was a snore fest. Ozzy and Priest we’re both off drugs, not even a little weed.

Halford was pissed off because the nearby golf course we gave his manager had no tee times on that day. All they talked about was golf. He wanted his tee time tomorrow or he wasn’t doing the meet and greet. Found out a liitle later, When I left to go fix this the whole room cracked up, he was playing me. They had the tee time. He was just giving me shit for fun. After the concert he let me in on the joke. I told him without missing a beat, bet you guys were more fun when you were doing drugs. That cracked them all up. He gave me a big bear hug and said your alright man.

There’s a recent video of Rob Halford kicking a cell phone out of a fans hand at a Priest show. I guess you could say he’s not hell bent for selfies.

I saw them on the Screaming for Vengeance tour and Defenders of the Faith. Solid show. Then Halford when he opened for Queensryche and Iron Maiden as the headliner.

It all makes sense now. Kids of Judas Priest fans became Juggalos. Priest fans are the Juggalos of the early 80's. Behold! Heavy Metal Parking Lot!

Great show

Didn’t know it til we got there, but the Stifel is right next to where the Blues play, it was quite the scene... seemed like every cop, and hobo, in the city was down there

In the theater, it looked like half the audience was watching their phones for updates, rather than watching Priest

Our tickets sucked ass, way on up in the nosebleeds, and buddy it is STEEP... holy shit I was dizzy for the first 30 minutes

You’re basically looking straight down onto the stage, I hated it... let me tell you it is no place to be all wasted and stumbling around, glad I stayed sober

Priest themselves sounded great though... Rob can still break glass, but surprisingly where he seems to have lost a little something is his midrange

All in all a great show, but if we ever go there again we’ll never sit in the mezzanine... floor or second level ONLY

Yes, but the fan had his flashlight on right in Halfords face while he filmed

There was a guy right in the front row doing the same thing last night but with no flashlight on, with no problems at all... Rob even fist bumped him as he slapped hands with the front row

Priest actually got better with age IMO.

I would disagree there

Halford did struggle a bit at times, I didn’t get the classic Priest shows I’ve watched on youtube last night, they’re not that anymore.. but it was close enough considering Halfords age

And Richie Faulkner is going places, that dude can rip

That is to say during the "can do" years, and prior to Ripper.

Just found out from my concert bro that Priest has canceled their next show, Halford has a vocal chord issue... not surprising

Still a solid show though, the entire downtown scene last night pretty much guaranteed a high satisfaction level... got my quick taste of the crazy city, then right the hell back outta there on home an hour away

Back to the OP, I saw the Priest on the Point of Entry Tour with Iron Maiden Killers tour with Paul Diano (?) before Bruce Dickinson. Again on the Screaming for Vengeance tour, Turbo, and Defenders of the Faith. Those were the true days of Heavy Metal glad I got to experience that. Tomorrow, I turn 56 years of age! Happy Birthday to me :thumb:
