KANSAS CITY, Mo. A man intentionally lit himself on fire by dousing his body with kerosene after an argument with his girlfriend, according to Kansas City police.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday on Southwest Trafficway near West 40th Street. Witnesses told police the man lit himself on fire in the backseat of a car after drinking kerosene and then pouring it on himself, a Kansas City Police Department spokesman said.

The man was being treated at an area hospital for severe burns on most of his body, police said. His girlfriend was not injured.

A friend of mine did this right after high school. He had knocked up his girlfriend during high school and married her (they were maybe 17 at the time). As you can imagine, that wasn't easy and he ended up going off the deep end with drugs and alcohol. I guess he turned into an abusive asshole when drunk and/or high and she left him not long after graduation.

One day, he showed up at her new place and ended up pouring gas over himself in front of her and their daughter and lit himself on fire. He didn't survive like the guy in OP. A very horrific way to go, I imagine.

I've wondered about this video in the past. Unless the guy in the window specifically arranged to have his death filmed, it has to be fake. Yet it really is convincing.
