If you buy it and civilization comes to an end, can you convert it to run on kerosene and kangaroo fat, and attach flame throwers and koala skulls to the front of it? That's how I make my car buying decisions.*

On a sad note, I sold my BMW roadster this month. We ended up with a nearly-new SUV after my wife's father passed away, and we don't need two cars.

First time since 1990 that I haven't owned a two-seat roadster. :(

I would go with a Pontiac G8, also made by Holden. V-6.0 L. A little bigger and more bad assed. You might be able to get it as a manual transmission. I looked at them before I bought my CTS V, which is manual and love it.

It's more kiwi-skin brown. It's a nice vehicle, an Acura, and it had about 1,500 miles on it when we got it. But the kicker is that we ended up having to buy it. My wife's dad gave it to us because he couldn't drive any more and we needed it to drive him around. He was originally just 'loaning' it to us for that purpose, but the insurance company forced him to sign it over to us after a couple of months of use, or we wouldn't be covered.

However, he didn't update his will, which directed any vehicles to go to some grandkids who are 1,000+ miles away. They viewed our possession as a loan and wanted it to be sold so they could split the money. Honestly, it was a gray area on ownership, and I could see their point, even though the car had been signed over to us for over a year before the will took hold. My wife likes the SUV and it's more or less a new car, and the hassle would fall on us to sell it. So to avoid any family drama we just paid the other relatives the blue book value for it.

But sadly, that forced the end of my roadster era.

Those come with the supercharged LS’s if you wanted. Holden made Monaro’s and Commodore’s with an option sheet like 1960 muscle cars. It’s very very sad they are gone. You could get a 4 door with an LSA and a 6 speed.
