Least Deserving Hall of Famers: Round 3, Heat 1

We're down to the worst 21 Hall of Fame players, so we'll have two heats. Pick the three players who are LEAST deserving of a Hall of Fame bust.

I'm going with:

1. John Riggins - 9 years with the Redskins at 3.8 ypc were his glory years. He was okay with the Jets for 5 seasons, but nothing special. It's a mystery why this player is in the Hall of Fame. One pro bowl selection, one all pro.

2. Jerome Bettis - 10 seasons with the Steelers averaging 3.9 ypc were his glory years. Three more years with the Rams at 3.9 ypc. Had four good seasons in his entire career.

3. Lynn Swann - 336 receptions in 9 seasons for 16.3 ypr, 5,462 yards, and 51 TDs. In contrast, Otis Taylor had 410 catches in 10 seasons (ignoring his final season where he appeared in one game) for 17.8 ypr, 7,306 yards, and 57 touchdowns. And Otis has never even been a finalist.

Swann. Never had a 1000 yard season.
Fouts. Lot of yards, but the 86-84-1 record isn't impressive. A lot of those yards came when the Bolts were down by 20. Plus, he's a jerk.
Riggins. Hate to go against a KU boy, but running behind the Hogs for most of his career should have garnered him a lot more yards.

Fouts is a Chief hating asshat. Never won shit. He is Rivers 1.0 minus the dozen youngins.

Swann-- self explanatory. Literally the worst member of the HOF in terms of credentials.

Riggins -- not a great career, and the Hogs were such a great OLine that they have a nickname. Quick, come up with a nickname for another team's OLine. Yeah, thought so. With that OLine, you better f'ing KILL it with numbers. He didn't.

Nobody else got my vote. Bettis was good enough, long enough, and had enough pro bowl votes, etc.

It should be an actual crime that Swann is in the HOF when Cliff Branch is not. Otis Taylor as well for that matter. Swann can't carry either of those guys jocks.

Man, it's crazy how horrible these guys' numbers look compared to modern players. Especially the QBs. Some of the QBs on this list threw more INTs than TDs in their careers, and the others were pretty close.
