That was my take with the outrage about Idris Elba supposedly being excluded from being Bond because of his skin color.

It's gonna be hard for Elba to have plausible cover as a spy in any predominately 'white' country. Same goes for Bond in settings where the plot calls for infiltrating a non-white nation or organization. Why not continue to cycle through white actors as 007 while Elba is given another 00 designation and they play off each other in a series of movies?

Doesn't mean either is superior over the other.

I thought that 007 meant something like there were a handful of people with a license to kill, and the number is just a way to keep track of them for legal reasons.

And if it's like other Bond films, this one will constantly seduce women, so it's a win.

Technically this would be the correct take. However, this situation is a bit unique. A successful book franchise and an extremely successful film franchise have indelibly linked the name and the title together as one. James Bond is 007 and 007 is James Bond, they are one and the same.

The look, sex, and mannerisms of the Original James Bond is very well described in the novels. If you don't want to use anything close to this- it is Not the same character the author intended. You are basically only stealing the name.

I was 12 when we went to the first one, Dr. No. The last one I paid to see was Roger Moore in Moonraker in 1979. I thought it sucked. I never saw Pierce Brosnan, never liked him. I liked Daniel Craig a lot and saw all of his Bond movies, but I always waited until they were on HBO.

For this movie they messed up, they should of hired Robin Roberts, a gay black woman, that would of been the trifecta. Only Kaepernick and half of the women's soccer team would of gone to see it. My other choice would of been Jussie Smollett, then only Kaep would of gone to see it.
