Hyvee's won't ship them and my kids saw them online and now are hounding me.

Is there anyone out there that would get me 3 boxes? I'd pay for your time and shipping as well.

Please PM me if you can help. Thanks!

Maybe, maybe not. It largely depends on how Pat's career unfolds. If it turns out that he is the undisputed GOAT when he hangs them up, that cardboard box in good condition could be worth a few bucks. If not, you'll still have a piece of memorabilia from the best Chiefs QB in history. It's a win win imo

My point is everyone thinks that. Everyone is gonna save them and preserve them. I have a baseball card collection from the 80's that isn't worth a whole lot because everyone collected cards in the 80's. The ones that are worth a fortune kids were putting in their bicycle spokes. Once people realized that these things could be worth money they suddenly weren't. I'm just saying buying one or two as collectors items for yourself is great, don't expect that this is a long term investment. I have a dream team kellogs jacket made of cheap paper type material that I got from sending in upcs, $35 online. Americans hoard too much these days.

I get what you're saying, but the difference here is that there won't be nearly as many of these since they aren't available nationally. I'm not sure how many boxes they plan on selling, but I can assure you that it won't be nearly as many as your baseball cards

NFL will only let Hy-Vee distribute the product in certain areas, that’s why they can’t ship. Not limited to KC metro but you won’t find it if you’re too far away.

They only produced 55,000 boxes, it’s all already shipped.

Not the same. First of all, they still sell Boulevard. Secondly, those cans just have the Chiefs logo on them.

This is a limited edition with (what I hope will be) the greatest QB of all time printed on them. Apple's and oranges my friend.

Oh, sorry. I thought you were talking about the ale they have out. But still. The Royals aren't a dynasty, so there is a very small market for those. I disagree with you on this one Once the craze is over, the boxes circulate around a bit and people realize they're getting a cereal box the price will go down considerably.

You can get some pretty cool memorabilia for the same price a CEREAL BOX is going for right now.

It depends on supply and demand. With only 55k boxes being sold, IF Pat becomes one of the all time greats, I could see it having a bit of value, especially if it's in mint condition.
Of the 55k, let's say 10k remain mint and the rest are either in poor condition or get destroyed. That will make the mint ones worth something, again provided Pat turns out to be the GOAT.

Lol people don't care about that kind of shit anymore. Those kinds of things were valuable when access to athletes was rare. Now you can see him basically any time you want and even interact with him on social media. Even worried autographed it wouldn't be worth much seeing as how Mahomes autographs 100+ things each training camp practice and before each game. ‼️ Tip for preserving your Mahomes cereal: if you're among those fans who intend to keep a box (or more) as collectible memorabilia and don't intend to eat the cereal inside - you should freeze the box of cereal for about a week. All grain products have some grain mite and/or weevil eggs. As time passes, those eggs could hatch, destroy your cereal and box...as weevils can chew through packaging/cardboard. I know, it's gross to think about, but it's a reality with all grain products. Freezing for about a week before displaying at room temperature, will kill any eggs.

I think most people who want these boxes aren't paying the prices they are because they view it as an investment.

I bought one to eat and one to display in the basement. It was more expensive than if I had lived in KC, but I didn't have the option of picking one up at my local Hy-Vee, so whatever. It's just $30. I've never experienced a superstar QB before, so I don't care if it's just a cereal box. I told myself if we got a franchise QB that I would never take ANY part of that era for granted, and to savor and appreciate it as much as I possibly could.

$30 for cereal? No, it's not $30 for cereal. It's $30 for history. It's $30 for something that will make me smile every time I go down to the man cave. When Mahomes' career is done, the Mahomes Magic Crunch release in the summer of 2019 isn't going to be anything more than a tiny footnote of his career history. But I still want a piece of it so I can say I was there.

[emoji845] Tip for preserving your Mahomes cereal: if you're among those fans who intend to keep a box (or more) as collectible memorabilia and don't intend to eat the cereal inside - you should freeze the box of cereal for about a week. All grain products have some grain mite and/or weevil eggs. As time passes, those eggs could hatch, destroy your cereal and box...as weevils can chew through packaging/cardboard. I know, it's gross to think about, but it's a reality with all grain products. Freezing for about a week before displaying at room temperature, will kill any eggs.Wtf

So, this begs the question: when this cereal box becomes a national treasure is it more or less valuable when filled with stale, gross, off brand, frosted flakes?

There was a rush on Oreo Game Of Thrones cookies too...they are on eBay for like $5 now. Don't expect these to be worth much in the future without an autograph. Flutie Flakes and Jeters cereal isn't worth much. Someone at work gave me a box that I'm probably going to eat or put in my office. I heard they will likely sell out by next week

Those were nation wide though. Right now these are only being distributed in and around KC hence the supply and demand pricing on Ebay. However they could easily release these nationwide at any point so your point is still valid

What will be funny is if any one that takes your advice is when they pull the box out of the freezer and the small amount of moisture that your frost free fridge is unable to get rid of attach itself to the dry cardboard of the box. Soon they will wonder where and why all this condensation on the box is coming from when the box warms back up to room temp and the moisture releases from it's frozen state. Box may be ruined, but at least they will have weevil free cereal to eat per your instructions.

At that price point a short lived venture as well. Why set a price point to exploit once, when you can charge more for a box of cereal you normally charge less for over and over and over and over and over. For many more years to come.

Even the rollout suggests that. Put out a product with limited initial availability. Create a demand by limited supply. In a months or 2 time full rollout with easy availability for the price of $4.99 over and over.

It feels good to be on this side of things for a change.
Grown men are going to buy frosted flakes because our QB is on the box like we were all kids again and no one blames anyone for it.
Revel in it, buy everything , this is our QB ....
let you and your sons and daughters enjoy the thrill of the hunt and then someday you will open an old cardboard box from the attic and get nostalgic over the same 4 dollar box of cereal.

Well hopefully people would be smart enough to take it from the freezer to the fridge so that the dehumidification process can take place.

Anyone remember the Flutie Flakes. People that never opened their boxes ended up with some that had holes in it like mice had gotten ahold of the box.
