Guy could never have made the roster no matter what he did

Supposedly he was with the Chiefs back in 2015 and just kinda jump from team to teams.

I think the more interesting thing is we signed another TE. Means Yelder and\or Bell are not impressing the coaches.

Dude had an awesome run Saturday nite. From Lee Summit to the end zone was the word at BWW, Morehead, KY.

Shows you how useless the pre season is. Reminds me of Freddie William's in 2016. Dude was a beast that pre season and still got cut. That's when Jason Avant was like our 3rd best WR

Did him a favor here ... gave him plenty of time to catch on somewhere else.

Maybe they're just doing him a solid. They knew he wouldnt make this squad, and after a good game they cut him with enough time to latch on somewhere.

And this is the silver lining in Caldwell getting cut. His resume looks great and another team can bring him in for a look and possibly sign him.

Better then waiting until a week before the season starts to get the axe right?

Besides if we start getting thin at running back with unforeseen injuries he could get called back. But remember this Caldwell, don't call us we'll call you.

I was told TE2 doesn’t matter and only idiots like John Dorsey worry about stuff like that.

I haven't seen anything like that at all posted on here. Everybody has been saying it needs to be addressed.

Also, just because Dorsey once found a cheap solution doesn't mean he worried about the position. He really didn't. Once the team started trusting Demetrius Harris, he never bothered to draft or bring in any real competition.

You can make the case for Dorsey being a great GM, but saying "He cared about TE2!" is a pretty dumb premise to support that argument.

I think this is definitely a favor to him so that some other team might pick him up.

LMAO I'm sure this scrub we signed is better than the other guys on the roster. Our offense sure looked fucked once Kelce went out.

If I could block NFL players (which I can't) I'm pretty sure I could play TE2 for the Chiefs. Just find the holes then hold onto the ball when Patrick puts it on your hands.

Yelder dropped several balls. Worse than Harris

Interesting move, both with the release of Josh Caldwell and the signing of an additional TE.

We have Darrel Williams, Damien Williams, Darwin Thompson, Carlos Hyde, Tremon Smith, and Marcus Marshall.

We still have 3 more preseason games.

I don't buy cutting a guy early to give him a chance to sign somewhere else.

Why not use him, keep all backs fresh, and give him a chance to show what he can do?

That 4th preseason game you really try to give players one last shot and try not to get your best players hurt. Keep your top 4 backs out of that game.

If he is good enough it seems he would be a possibility for practice squad.

In Saturday's game Blake Bell, Deon Yelder, and Nick Keizer each showed some promise.

A 6-2, 230/240, TE that has tried out for half of the NFL, does not sound very impressive.

Maybe using my same logic I used on RB, you use Garner in preseason game 4, so a TE making the team doesn't get hurt.

Anyway, I would have liked to see Josh Caldwell still be a Chief for a little while longer.

Guessing this will have little to no impact on regular season. If moves like this are your offense's biggest personnel concern, then you're doing alright. Knock on wood. :)

He has a separated shoulder. Happened during the muffed punt.

Williams, Williams, Thompson and Hyde. Sounds like a personal injury law firm.

Or it's because Lovett is injured and they want to keep the TE numbers up.

Or because Lovitt is going on IR and they need a 4th TE to finish the preseason.

TE 2 only really matters if Kelce gets hurt. The guys we have on the roster now are just as good as Harris was anyway.

Sherman can play TE also ... and has far better hands than Harris ever did ... just not tall enough.

If he was more andouille than patty, he would be the guy.

Did we sign Matt Cassel or something? We're flush with TEs now.
