Starting controversy at RB?

No controversy. It’s Damien all the way.

But it will be Thompson by the end of the season.

Damian....Thompson is not durable enough to be the main back. Reid knows this...

Barring any injury, Damien Williams is going to be your starter

Darwin has to impress during the regular season to take Damiens spot. Damien played very well last year, especially in the playoffs.

I know one thing who should never start or be on the roster.

Hyde.

Also will likely have problems with pass protection.

I'm extremely high on Thompson, but it's Williams job week one.

One of the reports out of TC I read was they were shocked at how well he was picking them up?

RBBC is what Reid is saying. He did it in Philly with success.

I feel like Thompson is the more talented back, kind of similar to hunt when Ware was the starter and got hurt. That said, Damien Williams earned this shot with how he played last season, but Darwin will eventually be the guy.

Damien then Darwin.

If a see a guy become available I’m adding him. Darryl doesn’t bring much. Hyde is meh. You could do worse as a 3rd back but I’d be looking to add another RB. We would still be fine when Damien goes down. But Darwin and Hyde doesn’t make me feel great. I like Darwin a lot but he won’t have it as easy when facing a first string D. Not a 3 day guy.

Darwin, more upside. If he isn't getting it done by the playoffs then give Damien more reps. It really is that simple

I think this is the right answer, but if Williams isn't 100 percent I think Thompson passes him.

Start the guy who shined in 2 preseason games over the guy who kicked major ass for the last half of the 2018 regular season and playoffs? Retarded thread. Williams is the starter until he gets injured or Darwin proves he's better in the real shit.

Thompson is going to always have some trouble as a pass blocker due to his size. Yes he's strong, but a linebacker that outweighs him by 50 pounds with a head of steam is going to toss him aside and crush Mahomes.

Williams is the more complete back. Thompson will be a weapon, just not an every down back.

Andy Reid will make the right decision.

I also think Hyde is definitely not a lock to make the roster. He could be the next Spiller.

I'd roll with Damien at starter, Darrel at backup, and Darwin rounding out the stable.

Hopefully they all produce well and we can keep a stable thing going. Something like 50% of snaps to Dame, 30% to Darr and 20% to Winny. Maybe 40%, 30%, 30%, idk.

Hyde looked quick to the holes d strong last night

Fumble sucked but I think he makes it

He runs straight upwards - big target.

Exactly the case. It was even on display last night. He had trouble even when part of a double team in pass protection.

DT carried up the gut on one play last night and got up really slow. His size was obvious from that one play. Need to rein in the expectations on the kid and just use him as 3rd down / change of pace back for awhile.

He makes it purely for experienced pass blocking and why they brought him in IMHO.

I get your point and in most cases you are correct but MJD would disagree with you. Yes MJD is 25lbs heavier than DT but.......

While I voted that the job is Williams' to lose, I'll note that Thompson weighs slightly more than Jamaal Charles did, and Jamaal was an excellent pass blocker. There's a bit of an optical illusion in play because Thompson is so short that he looks tiny even if he's not.

I question whether he's really 5-8. He looks shorter.

Thompson doesn't need to be starting. Let him be the new Sproles. He'll get plenty of time on the field, and he'll have a longer career if you let somebody else take the 200-carry punishment of the starting role.

Does it really matter? Reid's "safe runs" are 3 yard slants/curls to kelce, etc

MJD also only had 4 seasons where he played 16 games, 4 seasons with over 200 carries and he retired before he hit 30.
