I kinda think you just go all-in with the GOAT offense. The defense is terrible even with Jones. The offense noticeably dropped off without Sammy last year. With Sammy and the others, we know the offense is unstoppable. Without Jones, is the defense really much worse? It's already bottom of the barrel.

It's not re-signing. It's just not cutting him. The contract always paid more in years 2 and 3. If Mahomes had been a bust, then sure, he plays out his contract. But we need the money. Unfortunately he's almost certainly gone, especially after we signed Hill.
