That sucks.

Saw him in concert just last year. The years and bodily abuse had clearly taken their toll, but he put everything he had into that performance.

RIP :(

I opened for him a couple of years ago. Super nice guy, came up and shook my hand and gave us a shout-out from stage. He was clearly hobbled, having a tough time getting up and down the stairs on the side of the stage and his daughter was singing with him and hitting all the stuff he couldn't sing anymore. But he was giving his all, and it was a pretty good show regardless.

Nice cat. Go easy, Eddie.

It can be a real crap shoot seeing these people perform now that they're older. Sometimes they haven't lost a thing, like Pat Benetar. She sounds just as good now as she ever did. But even if the years have caught up to them, as long as they put forth a good effort I'm cool with it. Eddie busted his ass. On the other end of the spectrum is Don Dokken. That fucker was simply stealing from us. Can't sing AT ALL now, horrible stage presence, was actively being shitty to the guys in his band during the so-called performance. It was like watching an angry old man do shitty karaoke, except we'd paid to see it. After the set his bass player was outside having a smoke telling everybody what a dick he was.

Shakin' was probably my favorite song the he performed. Also love the Geico commercial that made fun of his "Two Tickets to Paradise" song. Classic

I really liked Eddie. He was a highly unlikely rock star. Looked like some Long Island dweeb, kind of a Poseur. But he was self-depricating, had a great sense of humor, and nobody ever said a bad word about him. His band was tight. He had a great life. And yeah, Fuck cancer. RIP Eddie.

He did two half time shows in a day. One up in Detroit I believe then the one at Arrowhead. I was at the game and when he left he walked right up the aisle we were sitting in. Seats were 50yd line right on the field he shook our hands as he walked by. It was a pretty cool Game Day.

This really bums me out. Eddie Money always rocked.

I have an Eddie Money story....Met him a couple years ago in a coffee shop in Palm Coast Florida. He was with his daughter, yet took the time to mingle and speak with everyone. Found out later that he owned the place. He gave everyone who was in the coffee shop that morning tickets to his concert the following evening in Daytona Beach.

RIP Mr. E.J. Mahoney - you always ROCKED the place, no matter where it was!

I met Eddie on a flight from Minn to Boston in 2014. Sat next to him in First Class. I looked at him at said, "Eddie, what the hell's up with that Geico commercial". He laughed and told me a great story about filming that spot. He and his drummer, Glenn Symmonds were heading to do a NE acoustical show tour. They were doing a concert at a fair in Iowa a couple months from there and invited me as a guest. I ended up going to see Eddie several times in the last 5 years. My brother was diagnosed with brain cancer and Eddie invited us to a show in Council Bluffs, we met with him back stage and he was so nice to my brother and encouraging. My brother lost his fight, but that night with Eddie was a great night for me and my two brothers in his last few months. Eddie was very under rated with all of his hits, he was a good dude and will be missed. RIP Eddie.

Back in the 80s, he used to show up randomly at a fraternity in Berkeley and play a set or two. It was epic.

remember going into peaches records to get a George Harrison album in 77 or 78 and low and behold there was Eddie Money promoting his album. we talked for a few minutes. he told me he left the NYPD as a trainee he said the music business was a hell of lot better. we shook hands and i went and paid for the Harrison album oh I bought his as well felt almost obligated. Nice guy. RIP
