Is this real life? Do I see the upcoming live feed as the TNF packers/ eagles matchup? Will I someday be able to witness mahomes' sexiness on the field in the clearest resolution? :whackit:

No. It'll still be 1080 but they'll say 4k and all of you will still ooh and ah.

I read an article about 4K vs 1080 and they say the difference is hardly noticeable. Regular HD is already really god damn clear. It seems 4K is a bit of overkill.

That's garbage. I have 4k and live sports is no comparison. Standard high def pales in comparison to the live sport offerings they give you. Mlb, college football, soccer, Olympics, golf...there is no doubt it's different. Now here comes nfl :thumb:

The direct tv 4k box costs no more, call and get one if you have tv that supports it.

Depends on size of TV and how close you sit. Oh, and how good your vision is will effect the experience as well.

The real benefits of 4K come from HDR and all the cool stuff that comes from that.

I believe the issue involves the bandwidth of networks more than hardware issues

As networks begin to move to ATSC 3.0 broadcasts will be in 4K. Some cities already broadcast in ATSC 3.0, but no one really has the equipment to recieve those broadcasts. I think TV's are scheduled to be released next year with updated tuners.

That. From a resolution standpoint the difference is barely perceptible. HDR is what really makes the difference.

I bought a 77" Sony A1E Series OLED and it is awesome. You won't be disappointed.

I mean, they can't even keep their broadcast trucks from going up in flames and you're demanding 4K?

Why so small?

Size of the room, primarily.

I'm also doing a bathroom remodel and debating expanding my deck. An extra $2,500 for a larger TV seems extravagant.

Looks like you should be able to buy an external tuner for 4K, sweet.

Yeah they used to try to tell me I shouldn't be able to tell the difference between 480i and 1080p too. Which is garbage. Especially when you have a big TV.

Normally $7,999, but I got it on clearance from Best Buy for $5,999.

For that price, it should not only produce stunning high-definition visuals, but also polish my taint while I watch the game.

Netflix offers some titles in 4K and the picture just jumps out at you compared to 1080p.
Unfortunately, cable TV is only carrying 1080i in our area, so I'd have to go subscribe to Hulu or something else to get the 4K broadcast.

That is about what I paid for a 50" Philips Plasma in 2005. :D

Easy dude. Some funny things have been happening around here lately. I saw Lzen did it accidentally just a little while ago. Glitches with the site. Chiefs winning games. Getting MVP awards. Weird stuff man.

If it was a normal, respected poster, I wouldn't have said anything, but it is Ubeja Vagina the most annoying poster since KCNative.

You now if you had read some prior posts in this thread you would have understood what it was about.

Instead your need to toot your own horn and feed your ego wouldn't let you because you don't have any regard for any posts but your own.

Is there anyway you can buy something a la carte? I'd like to just buy sporting events from time to time in 4k. For me to get 4k on Direct TV I have to pay like a ton of money for install for a monthly payment.

I'd rather just go to Hulu, YouTubeTV, Netflix and pay them $6.99 for a single game and be done with it.

*It was kinda ok. Didn't seem as 4k'ey add other offerings but still good.* Weird having no commercials between breaks though.
