This is a fascinating watch for the history of the NFL. I never knew there was a team in KC before the Texans moved here. The Kansas City Blue, changed to the Kansas City Cowboys.

Anyway, a good waste of 30 minutes.

Why would anyone watch a 30-minute video on NFL history when we can just read a Ubeja thread?

My fav NFL franchise name....

Tonawanda Kardex 1921

Missouri's first NFL franchise

St.Louis All Stars 1923

First undefeated team was the Akron Pros 8-0-3 1920

The first AFL season in 1960

West

Dallas Texans (Chiefs)...Abner Haynes the first "star"
Los Angeles Chargers
Oakland Raiders
Denver Broncos

East

Boston Patriots
Buffalo Bills
New York Titans
Houston Oilers

Check out these early NFL names

Triangles
Heralds
Panhandlers
Crimson Giants
Brecks
Marines
Steam Roller
Eskimos
Tornados
Red Jackets
Stapeldons
Yellow Jackets
Pirates

But....the Chicago Bears were always with us they were there in 1920.

Actually Chicago had three NFL teams, the Bears, the Cardinals, the Tigers.

The Green Bay Packers showed up in 1921

I always start at the beginning if the interest is there.

Hard to beat boxing when talking history and sports.

Something else that is interesting is pro football pre NFL.

Everybody knows all about Jimmy Brown*****, what has been lost in the legend is how he had a dynamic RB beside him, Brown was a FB.

Bobby Mitchell was a Big10 100/110hh Champ while at Illinois. The classic Thunder & Lightning (just not the first).

Paul Brown wanted Heisman winner Ernie Davis to pair with Brown but the Redskins had the first pick, so....a trade was in order, Bobby Mitchell to Washington for the rights to Ernie Davis (not as good as Mitchell). Mitchell was switched to WR, he is in the HOF.

Ernie Davis died from Lukemia.

So who replaced Jim Brown.....

.....like Mitchell, he is in the HOF.

***** it reads....Jimmy....on his rookie card, one of my prized possesions.
