Slow news day, and the top few threads have nothing of interest.

Any updates on the injury front?

Is our dear PM3 alright?

How bad is Sammy's hammy?

Is Reek gonna go?

How many more weeks, Fish?

Jones, is this a 2 week injury or a 6 week injury? Same for Williams. Wylie? Hitchens

Reek tweeted "I can't wait."

He practiced last week and apparently looked full speed.

I'm really really hoping this is a good sign that he's going to play.

Sort of off topic, but when Kelce has his shit games and seems completely out of it, do you think it's from pain killers? I don't mean that he is abusing them, but perhaps the staff is feeding him too many? In his shit games he looks lost and slow like his feet weigh a hundred pounds and his brain can't process quick enough to get his hands prepared for a catch. My friends and I always assumed he was hung over for some games but who knows.

I still wonder about berry on this question.

As for kelce, I see a guy getting flat out mauled out there. Defenses arent just chipping at him, they're beating him up and getting away with a ton of contact. He looks frustrated and exhausted, and understandably.

They can do that when there aren’t a ton of options out there to account for. Especially no Hill or Watkins.

Yea we’d be way better off without Sammy!

Look I get the frustration, but if he’s healthy for the playoffs and plays like he did last year when the time comes, who really gives a fuck?

comochiefsfan
10-09-2019, 11:57 AM
It’s not only that Sammy’s always injured. Everybody gets banged up in the NFL at some point in the season.

It’s the fact that he can’t play through ANYTHING. As soon as he shows up on the injury report at all, then you can expect him to be out for 5-6 weeks. He’s Mr. Glass IRL.

Think of how many times you’ve seen the Cheetah out there with a limp. Think about the Baltimore game last season where Tyreek basically willed us to a win with one leg. Do you think Sammy would have stayed in the game with that same injury? No fucking chance.

Why don't you get it? This place is full of geniuses. They get to sit at home and act like they're smarter than NFL GM's. I can't figure out why none of them are on an NFL staff. Oh. Yes I do. Why does this shit always happen?

He did that last year against the Rams. He was then out until the playoffs.

Fisher came back for a couple snaps then went out. He's missed a substantial amount of time.

Sammy plays 2 plays against Indy then apparently re-injures himself. Could be out for an extended amount of time.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, NFL GM's aren't brilliant people. They're people who a lot of times have jobs because of nepotism. There are plenty of people who don't work in that field that could do that job without a problem.

It's too soon to say. You can't judge a draft class accurately until year 3. And you certainly can't judge a completely overhauled defense just 5 games in. He inherited a good offense and a bad defense from Dorsey. He's trying to fix the defense. He may fail I. The end. But I'm not ready to crucify him just yet.

Who would be playing if he was out too? I don't want to know.

What the hell is really wrong with Dorian O'Daniel ? Can't we just find a construction cone or curb stop to replace him on the roster?

Some scrub that got cut in Training Camp?

That injury report actually isn’t THAT bad. We’ve already replaced Wylie, so his absence is negligible. We knew Fisher was out.

Watkins is always on there. Jones is really the only new big name.

Jones is a big one considering our pass rushing woes.

1. Tyreek Hill is practicing today and probably will play in the Texans game.
2. Eric Fisher had hernia repair surgery and is out for 4-6 weeks from 9/18. May play in week-eight against the Packers.
3. Chris Jones is week-to-week. Probably not this weekend, however could play in the next game.
4. Sammy Watkins did not practice and probably will not play.
5. Mahomie is the man and he won't miss a game!

See I’m discouraged on Hill. Being limited makes me think he’s probably out.

That means he isn’t going through contact.

I would be extremely shocked if he doesn't play. Don't read too much into it.

Dan Graziano said he’s a long shot to play. They want to see where he is this week then it will give them a clearer picture on his timetable

I would potentially hold him out this week, let him play in Denver then have a mini bye after the thursday nighter.

I think that’s probably their thought process.

They’re looking at this and probably saying, “We’ve GOTTA have him long term down the stretch...”

I think we can beat NE on the road IF we have our dudes. We won’t beat them anywhere without them.

I actually think holding him out because of the upcoming short week makes a ton of sense.

Our Wr's wont scare anybody this week, if we have to trot out Pringle, Hardman, and Robinson! If one of them goes down, who is left, DAT? were in trouble if we go down that far,,,,:-(

Would they go into a game with 4 WR?

Maybe I guess. Injuries are making things awful tough.

No reason for him to tweet "I can't wait."

No, we're in trouble if we have to trot out Matt Moore. If the OL can give Pat some time to throw, we'll be fine.

Kind of like Jeff Allen deleting his tweet which must mean he’s coming back!! But only to find out 2 hours later they chose Wisniewski

I would be surprised if Hill plays. I think the team would rather risk taking the loss than risk a more serious injury to Tyreek.

This is the take. Only problem is, can we give him time?

For his sake I hope...

That is the question, for sure. My guess (read: hope) is that they are putting together a gp that includes the Cheetah, and getting the ball out of Pat's hands quickly on short routes. I have no idea if he's going to be able to physically do what he does best - effectively roll out the pocket and throw.

That all leads me to my next point. We don't have to run the ball 30+ times on Sunday, but we better find a way to be more productive when we do. IMO, that means more Shady and less Dam. W. I know Shady put the ball on the ground after that big reception, but he had 0 carries Sunday night. That just can't happen moving forward. He's been our most productive RB carrying the ball (5.4 ypc). I think he needs at least 8-12 rushing attempts against the Titans.

I think more likely that not we will be without both Tyreek and Sammy.

Hopefully we play angry/aggressive after the loss and come out focused and prepared for a 12 round fight because the Texans are not going to get blown out without us having our weapons. No chance.

This is a game where we really need the defense to give us at least a little bit of confidence going forward.

I wonder if we could use Hill as a decoy if nothing else.

Just let him play 20-25 snaps, only throw downfield so you limit the chances of him being tackled... etc.

If they're worried about him playing 2 games in 4 days, then he's not 100% anyway, so would just 3 more days rest really get him back to 100%? And I'd rather him play Sunday vs the Texans than vs the Donks if they're worried about that. We're gunna have to put up more points to beat the Texans than we would vs the Donks you'd imagine.

Him being limited again today is concerning. Was hoping he'd be full go. If he's limited all week I doubt he plays. Sammy being a brokedick really sucks in times like this.
