I am offended that the Minnesota Vikings show people wearing viking helmets that disrespects my heritage even though they are trying to champion and honor it. Very offended and I'm mad they didn't personally ask me if this was okay. The people of Minnesota must show respect to my heritage and cease this practice immediately.

We live in a world where the NBA has bowed down to China... this overly PC, uber sensitive snowflake culture will in due time make the likes of the Braves, Redskins and Chiefs become untouchable for advertisers.

Hell, it's happening all over elementary and high schools... some colleges are bowing down to it. Wait until the NFL sees the dollars impacted and you'll be the Kansas City Fans of Indeginous Descent in short order.

The chop will be replaced with the golf clap. You guys are so offensive with your continued disrespect for the people that were here originally. You and your predominantly straight, white male privvys and all...

Damn you all.

While maybe not offensive, it is at the very least annoying AF when the Braves fans do it, and I have always thought it was. This is because it seems like they do it fucking constantly throughout the game.. like after every pitch or at bat. It gets to the point where watching a Braves home game is more like a concert of thousands of people doing the chant where there just so happens to be a baseball game being played in the background.

How many times during a Chiefs home game do the fans actually break out into the chant full throat? I've only been to 2 Chiefs home games, but its definitely not nearly as often as they do at Braves games, and also not nearly as noticeable while watching a Chiefs home game on TV. Also could be just that they do it so much because it keeps the fans engaged in the otherwise slow, boring nature of a baseball game, but still really freaking annoying.

Yeah, there's really nothing else to do at a baseball game. At a football game you get to watch football, but at a baseball game you're just eating and checking your phone, and maybe looking up if you hear a home run get hit.

I'd like it if our fans didn't do the chop anymore but it's pretty far down the list of things I care about. As far as affronts to Native Americans go, the Dakota Access Pipeline and Elizabeth Warren's history of redface are far more important and offensive.

The chop will eventually go away because it isn't a great look. I'm offended because it isn't original, personally.

Most native americans including the ones in my family don't give a shit but let's be honest they have a right to not really be amused by it.

I mean, you can say what's the big deal it's a rock tied to a stick but also, I don't know, Trail of Tears happened in this country.

If it was some tradition that goes back to the beginning I'd be more animated in defense of it but it's like playing Gary Glitter. Do you REALLY need it?

Maybe invent some new traditions that don't come from Florida

I must have missed the chapter in history class where Vikings were the subject of genocide and had their culture eradicated by the very country that now makes use of a stereotyped version of it. I mean you can say people are being oversensitive and the chop is fine, but this "white people get it too!" take is just worthless.

Well they are chopping like mad now, may have had the wrong effect.

This is similar to OU telling their fans and spirit support groups not to put “horns down” when they’re playing Texas.

I don't get it....why are the Chinese upset about the Chop? They're not even native americans! :cuss:

Even if you buy into cancel culture, I don't see how the chop would be on the non-PC side or insulting, seems like the opposite and it's actually paying homage to Native American culture.

The Indians logo and Redskins name I can actually see the argument against.

Those foam tomahawks are made in China, so it should be all good, right?

Wokeness ends where Chinese money begins.

I fucking hate the chop. It’s more Florida State to me than it ever is anything Chiefs-related. I refuse to do it and hope we can trade it back for that Gary Glitter song.

This.

The chop would be a lot cooler if the idiots in the crowd could do it in unison. Looks pathetic on TV tbh

Folks, if you're mad about PC culture, but you're also demanding that black people stand for the national anthem because it's politically incorrect to do so...

...you're part of PC culture.

Nobody has to do anything. You have a right to be offended. I have a right not to give a shit and keep on keeping on.

Personally, I don't care at all about the National Anthem thing. No fucks. National Anthem is the time for me to go get another beer or take a shit before the game. But should you really be protesting while on the clock? Probably should do that on your own time.

I must have missed the chapter in history class where Vikings were the subject of genocide and had their culture eradicated by the very country that now makes use of a stereotyped version of it. I mean you can say people are being oversensitive and the chop is fine, but this "white people get it too!" take is just worthless.

I'll do the chop now and then, but if it goes I won't miss it. More because it's an FSU chant than anything else.

Why does it matter if an indigenous group of people WERE subject of genocide or not when the entire idea to begin with was to champion their culture? Nobody named the team the Chiefs or Indians to mock them. They did it because they respected it. Why would you name your team after something you didn't like or respect?

We live in a world where red hats and the 'ok sign' are racist acts. There's a small minority of people that are likely very offended with mascots being named after indian references.

It doesn't matter what you feel you are doing, it only matters if it upsets someone... and can they raise enough noise to shame you into quitting or hurt your revenue enough, forcing you to stop.

Hold it! The OK sign is racist???????
