The offense doesn't help. They need to figure out how to run the rock and play small ball from time to time.. and that means Pat as well as Andy.

We had the ball for 1/6 of the second half.

Two drives after the last touchdown.

The first one ruined by a DAT drop and a blatantly missed PI

The second one ruined by a penalty and Andy going full retard on 2nd and 14.

If I’m Mahomes, I’m looking for the door out of this shit show.

It’s just impossible to win when you don’t have the ball and your teammates, coaches and the refs are working against you.

before everyone assaults our defense let's take a moment to acknowledge our offense possessed the ball 10 times. that's the same number of possessions the texans had.

our offense is almost as big a culprit as our defense right now

This is a bit puzzling. Shitty pass blocking for an injured QB so maybe taking a little heat off with a run game emphasis would make sense :shrug:

It's not a secret. Seems like there's been some analytical pushback about the importance of time of possession and run defense, but it makes sense. Not even as much for pure TOP but you're shortening the game and limiting the number of total drives Mahomes can hurt you. It's really the same in basketball and hockey... when you play an explosive offense you just try to slow them down and limit their offensive opportunities. It sure isn't going to guarantee a win but it seems smarter than standing in the middle of the ring and going toe to toe with a better offense.

It's a great plan if we could run the ball successfull at all. Our line sucks at run blocking as much as they do protecting the QB. Eric Fisher needs to get healthy fast. You don't know what you got until it's gone.

McCoy is more injured than we know. He came in fresh, had a good gain and immediately asked to be taken out of the game. We should still run a lot more but McCoy can't be our main RB.

It'll be interesting to see where we rank in this area after this week. Coming into today we had the 5th lowest average TOP, down with the Giants, Redskins, Steelers and Dolphins. All horrible offenses.

The last two “drives” by the Chiefs offense... two three and outs... there has to be a correlation between them being so out of sync on those two drives and being on the sideline for an eternity with the defense not getting off the field.

Chiefs allowed about 50 3rd down conversions yesterday.

The defense simply couldn't get off the field.

Hey...when the defense is letting up 5-6ypc...who wouldn't continue to run it and keep it out of Mahomes hands?
