I think people are being unreasonable to Sammy. Both this year and last year he gave it a go, and couldn't. That says alot about him right there. Most players just pack it in and just don't even try it. He wants to be out there, his body just won't cooperate. So to say fuck that guy, is just being frustrated at him for no reason.

We'll be lucky to get a 3rd round pick out of Watkins. Probably won't even get that. Probably more like a 5th round pick.

The injury history runs too deep. The inconsistency runs too deep. And that pricetag for the last year of his contract isn't going to be worth it for a lot of teams.

That's the same reasoning a lot of people on here used when it came time to trade Alex Smith. "Why would any team trade for him... we're just going to cut him. We're just gonna let him walk next year. Teams know that!" Same with Dee Ford's tag/trade.

All it takes is one team.

The problem is the player we want to attempt to trade just isn't very valuable because he's never fucking available to play. That's way more of a problem than "But teams know we're just gonna cut him anyway!"

I get your point regarding relevance, but yeah, it kinda does matter. Matt Moore isn't Pat Mahomes on Matt's greatest day ever and Pat's worst day ever. However, Matt Moore is better than Kyle Shurmur and he gives us a much better chance of potentially going 2-2 over the next 4, if Pat sits it out until after the Bye. If Shurmur is the QB, we are in trouble of going 0-4. He's not even close to being ready to handle that load.

Kyle Shurmer sucks REAL bad.

Yeah, there's a difference. And to be honest, if Pat misses 4 games and it's Henne v. Moore, I think there's even a difference between Henne and then Moore so I'd like to keep Henne largely intact.

I tried really hard to see what the Shurmer Stans saw in that kid during the pre-season and I just can't figure it out. He's fucking awful.

Is there a significant difference? If it's not Pat, does it really matter?I thought Moore looked terrible, and I thought he looked at every single receiver he threw the ball to. He didn't appear to go through any progressions, and just looked rushed and gun shy at times.

If Minshew can play like he is, why can't Shurmur? They both put up great numbers in college. Maybe I just hate Matt Moore, so I am biased. I just think he was a bad, very bad addition to this team. I was frustrated because I don't think Veach or Reid even looked at anyone else, besides Moore who was OUT OF FOOTBALL FFS.

There just aren't that many options in the second half of August when you need to sign a QB. And it seemed like he had been the runner-up to Henne a couple years prior. I don't think it was some real reach signing him.

I also thought he looked pretty bad though, but I hold out hope that Reid can work some magic and a week of practicing with the 1s will do him good.

And bemoaning the fact that we don't trust Schurmur to play like Minshew? Seriously? Does Minshew seem like he's the rule or the exception to the rule?

I don't think Wylie's condition is that big of a deal. I've been pretty OK with the duo of Rankin and Wisniewski. I kind of feel the same way about Watkins. If your QB can't consistently hit Hill and Kelce, why does he need any more than Pringle and Hardman? Before some of you point out the bomb to Hill, I'll just say that even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. Considering the show we got from the front 7 on D last week, I'm not even sure Jones is that big of loss. Fisher is a big deal.

There's a lot wrong with your post, too. Fisher is a big deal. Jones is a semi-big deal only because of the interior pass rush. He's not much of a run stuffer. Watkins had 1 big day with PMII while Hill was out, not much since, 6 rec for 49, 5 for 64, 3 for 54, and 0 TDs isn't setting the world on fire. Not to mention the 2 fumbles. Wylie is a JAG.

Sammy Watkins is a more polished overall WR than Pringle/Hardman/DRob and he is able to more consistently beat man to man defense.

Interior pass rush is the absolute best way to get to the QB in today’s NFL where the ball is coming out fast most of the time. That’s a “big deal”. Not to mention it allows us to keep Nnadi and Saunders fresh having another DT in the rotation.

Watkins became the #1 WR after Hill went down and teams focused on him. When Mahomes is back, you want Watkins to make teams pay for all the attention they give Hill. I mean did you even watch the AFCCG?
